Today I swapped my stock Ulysses horn for a horn from an M2 (should be the same as other tubers). The tuber horn is slightly louder and has a much better tone. It's also a completely bolt-on install, no creativity required. I had done this to my Firebolt and liked the results, so I figured I'd do the same to the Ulysses and post pics. Tuber horn: Ulysses horn on the left, tuber horn on the right: Remove the flyscreen (6 allen head cap screws) to reveal the stock horn: The stock horn is held in place by a single T27 torx screw with a locknut. Since the tuber horn is a bit larger you'll have to position it off to the side, but it mounts with the same hardware as the stock horn. You may want to loosen the 10mm nut holding the tuber horn to the bracket so you can reposition it, but it's probably not necessary. Tuber horn installed: The Buell part number for the tuber horn is Y0308.BB. When I ordered mine it was $8.85 (about what I remember it being from when I did this upgrade on my Firebolt), but when I picked up the horn I was told the horn was supposed to be $14.50. I'm not actually sure which price is correct. At ~$9 this horn is hard to beat, but be aware that you can find Fiamm horns for ~$15. |

I miss my M2 horn. That thing was LOUD. Thats a nice mod... it'll be tougher on a S bike... with the hid bits and voltage meter its getting crowded in there. |
