Just got back from the doc's this afternoon, and it seems the arthritis is getting worse in my right arm (had a laminectomy, as well, a few years back - plates, bolts, bone grafts, etc.) and lately its been more difficult for me to use my arm. Not a good for riding, i know.

But I kinda knew this was in my future.

That being said, rather than have the Uly in the garage taunting me, because its too painful for me to ride it, I think i may just go ahead 'n sell it.

My question, if i decide to sell it, what's a fair price to both buyer and seller for my '07 Uly with 335 miles? Its pristine, of course.

BTW, no farkles - just stock. Might sell the farkles here.

Oh yeah, its the faster black one as well - so it should sell for more than an orange one...right?

Thanks all.

John H.

Sorry to hear about the arthritis, that just sucks. Will you be replacing the Uly with another bike of some sort? Hate to see you have to retire from riding.

By the way, I ride a faster, more valuable orange one! Having stated that, and the fact that I have no reason at the present time to find a replacement for my '06, I'll put out the first bid at $50.00(it is black, what did you expect?)

Good luck, I wish you well and hope you will recover and regain use of your arm. And realistically it will probably bring somewhere around $8000.00 to $8600.00 from what I've seen.

OUCH!

Thanks, East Tenn,

no other bikes GRRRRR! ... there might be a sports car in my future, though....

I am blessed in so many ways, honestly, this is just something i need to deal with now, i guess.

to be honest, i bought the bike just to push myself, to see if i could do it.... i guess that only makes sense if you're me ... ha, ha.

at any rate, perhaps $7,777 then - i like the sound of that.

Wile, you may have just found your new ride, and its not to far away.

Johnboy
If you are in the sports car market, take a look at the Miata. I have had 2 of them and they are a blast to drive. There is lots of aftermarket stuff and should get about 30 to 35 mpg. It will hold the turns like its on rails and has a good bit of bottom end grunt. (Buell like)

Bum deal John - sorry to hear it, and so early in owning the Buell!

How about a hybrid Like the Carver - it leans and you can correct your color mistake by getting an orange one!

Johnboy,
Glad I read this thread and sorry to see you've got a bad neck problem. I've removed you from the temp/dipstick list. Those darn surgeons can really screw a guy up.

johnboy, have you tried using capsaicin therapy for the arthritis pain. It is a pretty strong anti-inflammatory, and about the only thing you can rub on your skin to help manage pain. The science behind it is sound. All other rub in stuff is snake oil.

Johnny,

I was on Celebrex until my GP stop writing it for me. Didn't they take it off the market?

At any rate, thank you for the tip on 'capsaicin therapy' i had not heard of it--i'll look into it, though. I really need to look at this more seriously, and find out more options. This cold weather has just F**ked me up, royal.

EDIT:

BTW, sorry to say, my long-term prognosis is not very good, either; seems i'm slowly dying.... yup, i'll be lucky to live past 80.

John

There is a video of that thing on youtube, it was reviewed by topgear. It looks fun and I know I would have one if I had money to burn. : )

I can't link the video cause I'm on my blackberry, but search for Topgear Carver

I remember once stealing my grandmothers electric scooter thing. I ended up driving across the town, then I went dumpster diving. I ended up finding this old hand truck and I jimmy rigged it on as a trailer and rode back with several old computers I found. Good times. : )

I just picked up a black Uly this month for $7500. It was a manufacturer demo with 476 miles. Just had it delivered yesterday with heated grips (add-on) and the hard luggage. Hoped to ride it this morning, but couldn't get it started, but that's another post. Ran great on the test ride though.....
