The image below shows what was described as "light scratches" and "curb rash". Be sure to examine pictures of any of their items VERY carefully before bidding. I took issue with these characterizations. Am I out of line?

My guess is the new tire didn't stick like expected.

One of the replies I got.

"OH YEAH I SAW IT, I TOOK THE PICS, I WAS THE ONE WHO PACKAGED AS WELL. NOT TO MENTION TOY HAVE HAD THE WHEEL OVER 3 WEEKS, MY AUCTION TERMS CLEARLY STATES IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM TO CONTACT ME WITHIN AS SOON AS YOU GETTING IT NOT SEVERAL DAYS LATER. STATES THIS IN THE TERMS, IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS, NOT TO MENTION THERE ARE PICS OF THE DAMAGE ON THE AUCTION, ALL PICS CAN BE COPIED AND PASTED IN YOUR PICTURE FILE AND THEN EXPANDED TO GET A BETTER LOOK. DESCRIPTION WAS CLEAR AS WELL. THE DAMAGE WAS WHY IT WAS SO CHEAP, I USUALLY SELL THESE FOR $300-400. AS I SAID, YES I SAW THE WHEEL, I HAVE WON RACES IN FAR WORSE CONDITION. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RUN THAT WHEEL. BENHIT@COMCAST.NET"

I don't think the damage would create a functional problem. It's just not attractive. You can have the problem area touched up by a rim straightening shop and then have it painted.

He sounds like the a$$hat I had to deal with. He didn't respond to my emails for 48 hours on a non-functional item and then got pissed when I contacted eBay about it.

Kind of like this?:

"dude what is your problem? you are the one who clearly said you would keep it if i could assure you the wheel is fine. by saying i would race it, means it is very safe to use daily, racing puts extreme pressure on wheels that are not seen in daily use. i also stated you can return it for a full refund as long as the tire is returned, i never said anything about returning the bearings, i could care less about the bearings. so i can not see what the [ ed - he didn't edit the f-bomb so our newsgroup had to] your problem is. i would use that wheel for now on if it was mine. i would even race it, that is how much i trust it. or simply return it. so cut the bs and make a decision. it also stated in auction term #2 i don't play games and i don't expect them from you. return it or keep it i don't care, just stop going on and on about the same dam thing. jerry @ southeast powersports of ga inc"

Return the bitch!

I wouldn't waste another minute. I think it's fine, but from an appearance sake, it ain't pretty.

They have another wheel on auction right now. As him if he will exchange for the one on auction and offer to pay the auction costs.

It's worth a try. If he won't, just return the wheel and be done with it.

He's a jerk, but if that picture was posted in the auction, I could see how he might expect that you should've known before hitting "confirm".

The picture above is one I took. Here is the listing. Maybe I just blew it but the picture they posted (that he took) didn't look so bad especially with his characterization that it was a "LITTLE CURB RASH ON RIM LIP."

That wheel is junk...might be good on a wheel barrow...send it back or lay the bad word on him.

Gotj-ok, I understand it's disappointing to get an item that isn't as good as you thought. But-my impression from looking at the pic in his auction is that his description is accurate and his photo does show the damage. The terminology he used is somewhat subjective; what "a little" means to one person is different from another. Probably would make a good race rim; a kinda ugly street rim that you gotta make excuses for (I didn't do it; bought it that way). However, I've bought and sold lots of stuff on eBay (docsjunksale) -a 99.8% feedback rating isn't easy to get. He isn't out to screw people. Being nice gets you what you want more easily; if he said he would take it back or swap it for something else I would take him up on it. Offer to pay the shipping and re-listing fees, and whatever difference in cost there is if it's an exchange. He will want to preserve his feedback rating. You guys are just disagreeing on his phrasing in the ad, which is a matter of opinion. Objectively, I have to say his picture does show the rim is chewed, probably from grinding it into a curb or something. I would have added a measurement to the description ("a 3" long by 1/2" wide abrasion through the anodizing into the metal, which in my opinion does not alter the function of the wheel but is significant cosmetically") I bet he will make good on it with an exchange or something. Good luck!

I gotta agree with Neurorider, the auction pictures clearly show the damage.
If you're not happy with it and guy will take it back, send it.
I think you'll have to eat the return postage though.

Hi Jerry,
I just ordered a new carb. It will be here in a couple of weeks. As soon as I get it in I will remove the jet kit from the one you sold me, transfer it to the new carb, put your carb back together and ship it back to you.
