Noticed my rear shock is weeping a little when I was changing my tire today. (OK Chris the mechanic noticed while he was changing my tire) But the question I shall pose to my fellow Bad Webbers I will have to replace the factory shock, any suggestions out there as to what I should look at?. Any and all comments much appreciated Karlsbad |

Get with Chadhargis. I believe he did the Wilburs(sp) and loved it. I think the rebuild it in the process of reworking it too. |

If your shock is leaking that should be a warranty issue. Unless of course you want the hot rod shocks anyways! |

The Wilbers shock is a very nice unit. |

Ettennuly Nailed it, yes it should be warranty so if I have to fix or replace I may as well upgrade, we shall see if my dealer will allow me a credit for shock I must replace (Highly unlikely) You never know though, My university coach said I wouldn't make to 20 and that was 25 years ago so you just never know |

I believe Wilburs and hyperpro are the same or related. Joe |

I thought Wilburs (I have one on my FJR) no longer has a rep in the US? Any transactions have to be from Europe? |

keep in mind the stock unit is not very expensive and if you want longer go with the Uly unit, should be only a couple of hundred dollars, If I rember correctly, the Wilburs is over 1000, I know it is better, but still I wanted you to know the stock unit is not expensive. |

I agree with Cavi..if the stocker is just $200.00. It is a no brainer to me as the stock unit is very good in my opinion and since I am getting close to being out of warranty I will buy a stocker as opposed to approx $1,200....for a Wilbers...If I was doing to spend anything like that I would rather find a Olin shock which is probably the gold standard... |

Another option is to send it to Trackside Engineering for rebuilding. During the rebuild, you can get custom damping and, if you choose, a custom spring both tailored to your weight and riding style. With the spring, I believe it's about $200. |
