I have to agree "I'm thinking once you get past $12K ya pretty well leave the crowd behind.." I'll personally not go over the $14K mark for a bike (well, maybe only for the BMW R1200S). Hopefully Buell knows where the market is for their bikes... Paul |

if motorcycle news is refering to a new buell then it kinda pisses me off....with a motor swap in the same chassis and no major changes all of a sudden its one of the "most exciting sport bikes". have they ever ridden a current buell...WTF |

Well, my compleatly stock 12Ss will keep the new 1098 (don't know if it was the S but it had Ohlins forks and the Termi heat wrapped tubes on it) within spittin distance @ the gap. I can only imagine what the Rotax powered lightning will do. |

I am thinking it will be a little more of an engineered package than just a drivetrain swap. Erik is above backyard mechanics. |

Okay, so what did Court say while I was sleeping??? If this turns out to be some OTHER mfgrs ride, I will NOT NOT NOT be amused. Why can't we even know if a website will be talking about a Buell AFTER the official announcement??? I don't get this whole Buell "secrecy" thing -- Ducati let info on the 1098 out early, and it (gasp) led to tons of good press and pretty much a sell-out of the entire model run prior to release. Can't have THAT.... |

BUELL is letting the info out early... Earlier than the dealers will have the bikes! I'm sure Ducati kept things under wraps too, until they were ready to release the info. Buell isn't ready to release the info until July 8th. Then will (hopefully) come all the reviews from magazines and whatnot, THEN the bikes will hit dealerships. I always thought that's what every vehicle company did. The only reason this Buell thing seems like such a huge secret is because we're hanging out in a club with 200 people whom are all trying to figure it out! Maybe I'm missing something. |

Well, I've ALREADY dropped over $20K on a motorcycle. Not on a SPORT BIKE, though...
Although I have told people before it's the most comfortable "sport bike" I've ever ridden... |

Mike, Buell is about the ONLY manufacturer that doesn't show "concept bikes" or "Prototypes." Look how long we've pretty much known what the Suzuki B-King would look like. Same for the KTM Venom and the Ducati Hypermoto. On the other hand, you don't know ANYTHING about upcoming Buell models until they're ready to hit the showroom floor. |
