so last night i was riding my 2003 xb9 around town and i got out on the highway... well as i was riding i started to notice a power issue.. my headlight was going dim and bright, but the batt is not even a year old. So later i had stopped and i got back on the bike, hit the switch to fire her up and everything just died. I popped the fuse box off, no blown fuses, checked the relays and then it fired right back up. So im guessing loose fuse, but then the power issue was still there. So i got home and checked my batt cables, and the neg was a little loose and the pos was pretty well secure. I tighted them both up, but havnet had a chace to ride it again.

Im just wondering if you guys think that the neg batt cable could have been causing that surge of power?

The negative battery cable being loose CAN cause the problems you are talking about. Poor grounds cause major havoc on your electrical systems.

Buell_892,
Many have had plms. with cables getting loose, I wd. say either put a washer on the bolt to take out some length of the bolt as it appears to bottom out and NOT 100 percent tight after awhile, OR get a little shorter bolt both for the + & - posts...
