I think it's cool! Gonna get a Ulysses first though. In case I want to take someone with me. |

I totally dig it. I'd replace the side plates with passenger peg brackets but that's just me. What I really like most is the extra suspension travel. Not nearly as much as the Uly but a bit more than the S, R & Ss. It also has a slightly steeper fork angle than the Uly & Ss & just a bit more than the standard S & Firebolt. It's sort of middle ground between the the S/R & Uly/Ss. I think it would be very nice on rough roads & just very nice in general. |

Its not so bad in person. It looks like the ulysses's kid sister
perfect for the girl that wants to look like she might go off road at any minute but most likely wont. |

I dig it. I even like the side number plates, but I think it would interfere with my tail bag bungees. ~SM |

"It looks like the ulysses's kid sister" So true. That is one of the funniest things I have heard on this site. |

Actually, it's starting to grow on me. The Uly is a little too tall. I want a Lightning and the extra suspension would be a bonus. I think I'd put a 'low' seat on it to negate the height difference and to sit more IN it than ON it. Of course, the white would get painted first thing. |

Wonder if the number plates would do a good job of keeping a set of soft saddle bags off the rear wheel? When I first bought my Uly I had to wait a little more than a month for the hard bags. I rode around with a set of soft saddle bags, but I wore a whole in each one as they would swing inside against the wheel while turning. |

I think they probably would keep the bags up. Looks like an L-shaped bracket that gives the number plate it's support, with the arm running backwards from the passenger peg bolt holes and then turning down at an angle. Dunno how stiff the plastics would be away from the bracket, but I'm sure it's better than nothing. ~SM |

Is that because of the different tooth count on the primary drive sprocket? |

The 9 engine revs higher than the 12 partly because of the smaller, lighter pistons. The 12 makes more power but it is at a lower RPM and it hits red line faster than a 9. Erik once desribed it as the difference between a samll blcok and a big block V-8. Depends what you like. |

Dave, Pistons are the same size. The stroke of the 9 is what causes it to rev higher causing a powerband more usable in the mountain roads where Glitch lives |

Thanks Davegess, I have been thinking about putting the smaller drive sprocket from the 9 on my 12....any thoughts on that? |

Wolf, You gain a ton of tourqe but your cruising speed will suffer vs RPM will suffer. IE at 70 MPH you will be at a much higher RPM than you are at currently... |

the shorter stroke on the "9" allows the bike to be more "flickable" due to less gyroscopic effect imparted by the crankshaft/rod assembly ?! |

I know what its going to do to the bike, I would like to know if anybody has done it and either liked or disliked the end result. I know that Harley sales the same thing for big twins (race compensator). That didn't make to much since to me because of all the highway miles I put on my bike. But the Bolt is a different story. Its for Flogging. Would the Flogging Fun Factor increase? Would it help or hinder Dragon runs or track days? |

I can tell you, with absolute certainty, that the TT is going 100MPH at 6800RPM in 3rd and 120MPH at 6800RPM in 4th. The suspension on this bike received a great deal of attention. Keen eyes will note most the visible parts, including the fork legs, are new items. It works very well. |

What about in 5th??? Not that I really care about top speed, but it seems from Court's post, that the tests were done... |

>>>>that the tests were done... That's for damn certain. I actually took photos of some of the tires of the test bikes. Trust me. . . you, I and likely darn few folks on the street will ever do what the test folks do to a bike. The one I shot the pictures of had the front tire toasted to the rim and the brake rotor showing signs (ala the little stunt I pulled on David "Boomer" Wells day I had to take the Softail for Fossil wathces to present him after he made a smart ass comment) of "excessive abuse". The TT is an absolute hoot to ride. . . not, in my book, a bad thing for a motorcycle. |
