http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?artic le=27565 Now that Buell hasn't been there in awhile why would they/he be there ??? Well thats the Milan show and if your there you have something great to show and release possibly. Buell doesn't show a maybe they are a do'er. Expect a new release next week. That's my prediction. And a birdy sang in my ear. |

You all will have to wait. But remember you heard it here first. |

I know I probably should wait a few days before announcing this, but here goes. Erik is going to announce the first new model of the Ducati/Buell merger: The Scoppio. The Scoppio will be the replacement for the Blast, which has languished in the market place in the last few years. The Scoppio, which very closely resembles a 1970's Ducati 450 Desmo single, will be lighter, more powerful, and more sporting than the Blast, not withstanding the fact it was discontinued over thirty years ago.
Erik Buell, who was an avid Ducatisti in years gone by, said that it was only appropriate that since Ducati was going to air cooled 45º two valve Vee Twins for their superbike line, that Buell should adopt the iconic Taglioni designed Desmo single for their rejuvenated Blast . Old timers among the Bad Web fraternity will recall that this is not the first time Harley has turned to Italy, and rebadged sporting Italian iron. The warmly remembered Harely Sprint, a renamed Aer Macchi springs to mind. Harley won a couple of Grand Prix titles with Aer Macchi motorcycles. This info comes from a highly respectable source at Dell' Orto. No word on electric starting as of now. Developing........ |

Personally, I prefer to just not say anything and keep my job. Even if I ever decided to something that dumb - and I wouldn't - it definitely wouldn't be with someone who would just take information (right or wrong ) and run to the internet to brag about it. Not a cool thing to do in my opinion. If nothing else, just remember dead birdies can't sing. |

no more embarassing "its only got about 90 hp" If you're embarrassed by your Buell, then ride something else. Personally I think the Buell/Ducati merger thing is total fabrication. Maybe I'm wrong but who cares? It doesn't affect me in the least. |

"If you're embarrassed by your Buell, then ride something else." My sentiments, exactly. If you need to have the most horsepower in your motorcycle, why did you buy a Buell? There are many other bikes, that sell for less, with much more horsepower. When I was deciding which bike to buy, I knew that the Buell couldn't match others in the horsepower department. But I realized that it had MORE than sufficient for me. The Buell had everything that was important to me. I am never embarrassed by the power and mines a 9. |

I'm with Old_man... I prefer to ride my wife's 9SX VS my S3T. Even though it's down at least 20HP to my S3T. |

It was the birdy thing that should've been left out in my opinion. Makes it seem like you really know something the rest of us don't or aren't supposed to. Then the "you heard it here first" "Next week" isn't saying that you know when? If a person does know things don't you think it would be better for Buell to have the opportunity to announce it the way they want to? |

There is speculation of a new bike coming out at every major event. I don't see this opportunity of a new Buell coming out at Milan to be any different. It is about time for Buell to come out with a major change. It has been a few years. I am eager to see what Erik has in store for Buell. |

How about a person that : 1. Has no inside information at all. 2. Enjoys a bit of a giggle every now and then? (Message edited by gentleman_jon on November 11, 2006) |

So does this birdie realize that what you do with any shared information is post online that they shared something with you? Whether you realize it or not, that birdie can lose their job for saying anything to you whether your post contained specific details or not. So the ultimate question is this - is really worth risking someone's livelihood so that you can say "you heard it here first"????? Shame on you for sticking some else's neck out like that. |

I believe you're all speculating that: 1. There is actually a "birdie" 2. Said "birdie" is actually a Buell employee 3. It's just the internet. I believe Anonymous may have proven this to be true more than this thread. Anonymous should have kept their mouth shut. |

1) The claim was made so either the poster was lying or just exhibiting poor form. 2) Buell employees are not the only ones with jobs at stake related to leaking information. 3) It wouldn't be the first time someone has lost their job for "just the internet". |

Birdies tend to drop a lot of bird crap. Wait for an official word, this way you don't get false hopes. |

Again, isn't this all just speculation? Or are you, Court and Anonymous, confirming the fact that there is, indeed, a new bike coming out in a few days? |

anyone whose job could be in jeopardy for talking on a message board should know better. Me, I'm the boss, so I'll let everyone know right now that I have purchased the Buell Motorcycle Company. I also bought Ducati, Aprillia and Moto Guzzi. I'll be merging the four brands to create a mechanized body armor suit that converts into a rocket powered motorcycle. It will be capable of travelling through the air or under water as well as outer space. The sky is not the limit on the new ApriBuellGuzziCati Motorcycle suit. Available soon at your local Wal-mart stores. |
