I prefer to strap on the Aerostitch and ride through the local automatic car wash. That way I can clean the bike, the helmet, and the suit all at the same time. |

If you have a good dealer take it in for warranty claims one thing at a time, they do a nice wash job! |

Wash a Ulysses, why? One of the reasons I bought one... no blink-blink -. I've been owning my Ulysses since May'06. I wiped it down a couple of times using Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish, does that count as washing? Repeat after me: "Ride, park, check the oil; repeat." |

Teeps, that stuff must work miracles because every time I've seen your Uly it looks great! Mine's so dirty right now guys to the right of me at the Rock Store moved their nice-and-shinies! |

My uly got washed quite a few times by my dealership every time it was in for a warranty issue. They always do a nice job! I think they washed it more times than I did. I can let this bike stay dirty a lot longer than I could with any of my Harleys. It looks good with a little dirt on it. |

my dealer has a terrible wash service, they rinse with water but it's not clean. I ever washed my Uly, my other Buell I washed a few times with regular carwash soap. and a leaf blower to dry. |

I use Meguiar's soft wash gel on all my vehicles and it works great. I've used S100 in the past and it works great too, but it is a little pricey to me. My only problem is I don't wash them very often. Living on a dirt road doesn't make them stay clean long. I made the mistake of putting Armor All on the bags ONCE. Talk about a sand magnet. I actually haven't washed mine in over a month and I've got a protective layer of bugs/sand/dust keep my headlights and windshield from getting rock chips. |

The cheapest heavy duty soap I can find, (Purple Power at Wal Mart). Use with lots of water on the entire bike with a automotive wheel brush and a motorcycle spoke brush. I don't get anal, it's just a good way to get a look at things. (Message edited by debueller on November 06, 2006) |

I just use car wash soap and a sponge. I tried that S100, but it didn't clean very well and was a real pain to rinse off. For $10, no thanks. My bikes generally get cleaned before a service, either by me or the shop. It's so much nicer to work on a clean bike. JMH, I tried Plexus on the bags, and it worked pretty well. Cleaned them up nicely, and even took off the scuff marks from my boots. |

When I bought the bike, the dealer gave me some HD spray and shine thing (called Gloss). The first time I used it, I sprayed it on everything, then wiped... Big mistake! My black Uly now has swirl marks. The tank is pretty much covered by the tank bag but I know the scratches are there. It burns me up that I did this instead of a sponge/soap and water wash. Any suggestions on how to remove? My Billet Metallic S3 never showed a scratch. Live and learn. Aler |

I use Dawn. It cuts grease. I wash mine as every couple of weeks or so. I inspect every inch of it as I wash. I figure that if I don't, I might miss something that I could have caught early. |

I use Dawn also, it really does cut grease, and it is cheap, and comes in so many flavors. I just got in from driving in the rain, it always seems to leave spots and dirt flow streaks. Does any one have any ideas for fixing a leaky seam on a HD rain suit? The glue on the seam in the crotch (of course)looks stretched and has a few little holes through it(not the material). Watch that little smiley...he is saying "wet...oh no!" |

Does any one have any ideas for fixing a leaky seam on a HD rain suit? Someone on this board once posted about using a seam sealer on rain suits. I've yet to use one, but need to on the First Gear rain suit. I think she said you could get a seam sealer from places like Wal-Mart.

Thanks, I'm wondering if a swimming pool sealer for a vinyl liner would work? |

Vern, The best stuff is seam sealer for tents. You can find it at hiking supply stores. They are particularly made for breathable materials. |

Sitting under a bridge in my Frogg Toggs:
We were forced to pull over because we couldn't see a damn thing except each other's tail lights. That was the point at which I discovered that Buells don't have hazard lights. Fortunately my Uly is Orange, so it really doesn't matter if I wash it or not. |

Mine gets washed when I ride in the rain. Every now and then it might see a bucket of soapy water, but not too often. |
