No kidnapping, they just took me out for some alien brewskys. Been in the process of relocating my computer. It's seeming to be a longer slower process because there is stuff I need, but don't have yet. The end result will be a sweet dual LCD monitor setup(w/possible 3rd LCD TV), and 5.1 surround with seperate external amps for front/rear/center channels. One of the amps smoked the power button the other day, so I have a new button on the way, and some soldering to do....yipeee. So, Jackie, how goes it with the torts over in Pimp Daddy Valley. That new ride any closer to the driveway? Nuts, Is the Uly still in one piece, or did you grind the edges of the rims off with that massive lean angle? Later....Tank |

Tank, Yowser man three monitors. If you place them in just the right spot it'll be just like viewing real life. That definately has potential if you happen to be checking out some saucy internet material . The torts are doing well but I don't anticipate eggs until the Spring. Even then I can't count my tortoises until they hatch HEHEHE. Anyhoo, glad all is well. |

SO, How bad was it? You go wall-riding on the Uly, or what? p.s. I agree that in most situations, riding it out/through, and/or finding a different "path", is better than voluntary body surfing. Tank want's no parts of road rash! p.p.s Nuts knows Tank is not afraid of the path less traveled. (Message edited by tank_bueller on October 22, 2006) |

Fellas', He may just be trying to bait me for our proposed Squirrel hunting trip in the morning. I have canceled a few times in the past and now he says I always bail on him. At least I know how important it is to keep ones' guns clean. I stopped over Ole' Nuts' house this evening and his muzzleloader looked like a cheap grill that had been thrown in a saltwater bath. Never fear, with 3 hours elbow work we managed to get it back to a somewhat functional state. Next time he says "I got it clean enough" I am going to punch him in the nose! |

Jackie, As long as you and "OLE NUTS" keep poking at one another,I think those squirrels still have a good chance for surviual. Well we had our last points race satnite and we clinched the Open Vintage Title for the year at Mid Carolina Speedway. They have more races but that was the last points race(takes alot of pressure off)Now we can do alittle R&D work. You guys be safe out there in the wild, don't let Nuts stick his hand in any squirrel nests, you know how hyper he gets.LOL................Charlie |

Congrats Charlie, good to hear yo guys are still gettin it done. I'm thinking you fellas need to make one of them dirt trackers street legal. I'm tempted to use the Uly that way but have been unsuccessful as of yet "backin it in." I have been getting a little wiley on the fire roads here. Never fear, NUTS has himself a new bolt action squirrel gun. Now when I miss I can't just fly off the handle and squeeze off nine more rounds in frustration. Those semi-auto's just scream at you to unload em a clip at a time. NUTS is off to see if there is an official fix for his pinging ULY. |

Nuts, Good to hear your not hunting the little fellows with an uzzi.We don't want to lose anymore trees than nessasary. Only fix for that Uly is retard timing or racing gas. It's a 1203 problem in different degrees(some models worse than others) |

Charlie, Glad all is well and ya'll finished the season safely and with great success. I am also glad you mentioned retarding the timing since I have been telling him that since it started (just between you and me I don't think he knows what I'm talking about). I also find it funny you mention Nuts using an Uzi. Last time we were out there I thought we were in Afghanastan or something. I moved a little up the ridge from him to retrieve a squirrel I had expertly dispatched with my Zen like marksmanship when all of a sudden, POW, POW POW, POW, POW POW POW. Let me tell you guys I was duckin' for cover under fallen logs and boulders, bobbing and weaving like a green beret. Then I had a revelation. I was perfectly safe since he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn . Never fear, I am planning to build him a portable bench rest complete with sand bags and stool. I just need to figure out how get the deer to stand at the 25, 50 or 75 yard markers. |

Nuts is king O' the woods! We were sitting there eating our sandwiches when Nuts spied this feller creeping through the woods. Because of his generous nature he allowed me the first shot. Boom, miss. Boom, miss. Boom, miss and then Nuts lets him have it with a mighty blast from his as yet unproven Ithaca. I guess it is proven now . It is time to pass the "Master of all things outdoors" torch to Ole' Nuts.

The bird has had its breast meat deep fried and half consumed. By the time MotoGP starts today it'll all be gone. Speaking of the race I'll be happy as long as Nicky or Rossi win. It'd be great to see if Nicky can run with "The Doctor." I must give credit where it is due in regards to the most recent turkey hunt. Jackie kept swearing, "any minut now." Wouldn't you know it that "minute" came at the most inconvenient time. None the less, the Fast&Loose team got it done. Thanks again Jack! Next up; venision! With all this hunting going on I often forget about the Uly in the garage. I still have to get the mud scrubbed of it from my last adventure. I did get it out last week with the wifey for some leaf peepin. NUTS

Nuts, I'm curious how the Wife likes it. The girls around here all think it's great for the passengers. And the bike still handles great with one onboard. |

Jim, I'm quite new to hauling a passenger, but it's something else to learn. My wife actually claims the seat makes her bum numb. She has zero motorycling experience and I'd have to say motorcycle seats are definitely comfortable BY COMPARISON! Given the opportunity to ride something less comfortable I think she'd be a fan real quick. That being said I'm happy to take her on our 50 mile jaunts and save the big stuff for myself. One day I'll have a sidecar rig and then we'll all be happy. I have been giving thought to trying the 07 seat. I like ours while riding but when I get offroad and try and touch down on uneven ground, ugh oh. Honestly if I could find out what's wrong with the motor I'd be smilin. Once hunting season settles down I'll give a little more creedence to its woes. NUTS |

Didn't realize you were having motor problems Nuts. Hope you get them sorted. You need to let her ride on the back of an M2 for a few months. The Uly is great. |

Nuts - the 07 seat make a BIG difference for the passenger! I actually made it 100 miles before having to get off the bike. That doubles what I could have done on the 06 low or the M2 with a Corbin seat. Like your wife, I get very little seat time so my tolerance level is quiet low. |

Jim, it sounds like there's crappy gas in it. I always put reputable high test in but the bike just seems to knock around more than usual. Once my dealer slows down I'm going to see if they can check for an intake leak. I'm not in a hurry to retard the timing but time will tell. I have experienced severe pinging but this is another gremlin. For now I'll just turn up the ipod a little. NUTS |

Nuts - I read a thread on advrider. There were some BMWs that pinged because carbon built up in the cylinders. The cure was pretty simple. Warm up the bike, rev it to 3k rpms, hold it there and spray a pint of distilled water into the intake. The steam cleans off the carbon deposits. I don't know if it would help, but it's simple enough to try. |

Nuts, Another day of no woods for me. The motorbike ride jacked my back and neck up pretty good. At this point I am seriously considering just lounging until Saturday to make sure I am able to make the much anticipated opening day. My hopes are high and my mind plays numerous scenarios every time I close my eyes. I hope it lives up to the hype! |

Jim, I'd rather ride it around until the warranty is up. My previous ride was an XB12 Lightning and that bike had none of the issues my Uly does. I have a good dealer and friend who sold me the bike. Once there is an "official" fix I'm sure it'll get done. I just don't want to waste any time complaining about something they can't easily find. Cheers. NUTS |

Nuts, All that pinging is like a cancer inside your engine. It takes awhile, but there isn't a moving part in there that isn't affected. By the time their cure shows up your motor will be toast.Unless somebody is promising you a new motor, Id be worried........Charlie |
