I tried a little screen with the flip on it and hated it. It created much more turbulence for me than the extended Zero Gravity I have. The non-flip just pushes the air upwardsa nd lets it come off the shield at a nice angle while leaving clean air. This is just my observation..the flip stinks. BTW... Does any one have the part number for the Buell tall screen recall kit? I wouldn't mind ordering a set for a piece of mind. I know it's on this site somewhere...but I can't find it. |

Are the 4 1/2 over no longer available? It mentions it in the text but there is no way to select it in the pull-down. |

Thanks, AZ. That's what I'm looking for. By Spring, my baby should be looking cool. |

Fubar, Good question. That is the size I was leaning towards and had one in my cart a day ago, but didn't buy it. That is weird that it is no longer in the drop down menu. Joel |

Likely due to the Buell Tall Shield recall. I sent them an e-mail asking what they were gonna do. |

Michael1, and anybody else concerned about the lower pins pulling from the grommets with taller shields that use the stock flyscreen mount. I don't know about the recall kit but you can order the lower mounting hardware for the updated Buell Tall Shield which takes care of the problem. The kit is part # 57739-07Y, costs about $20 (ouch!) and consists of 2 each: screws, outer washers, spacers, inner washers, and locknuts. They replace the lower pins, space properly within the stock grommet and secure the shield from pin liftout. You could probably duplicate the kit from the hardware store for $5 but the parts in the kit are pretty nice. I bought a kit because I didn't want the Laminar Lip I bought to replicate the original Buell Tall problem, if it were even possible. As it turned out I've mounted the Lip directly to the flyscreen, I like it there a lot. Does a pretty good job. |

Can you take the screen off and on easily? In other words, still swap from the regular screen to the larger one? |

Birdman, do you mean swaps between regular and large with the 57739-07Y hardware installed on either, or both? Unfortuneately no. It's not a "pop-out" anymore. Instead of an under-five-minute swap it's now an under-fifteen-minute swap. Wouldn't bother me personally, I don't swap screens around so much and it's not a bad idea to check under the flyscreen occasionally anyway. Anti-seize the mounting screws to the module and frequent removal is no biggie. A few extra minutes to swap out a screen and check under the flyscreen for any wiring abrasion problems is cheap insurance and better than wondering if or when your taller shield is gonna smack you in the face some day at 80+. IMHO! |

I did get confirmation that Cee Baileys is no longer offering the 4 1/2 or the 6 1/2 over removable shields for the same reason Buell did the recall. They are encouraging the bolt on models. |

Just got off the phone with Tom from Cee Bailys. He told me they ceased production on all Uly windshields... Wonder if they got hit with a lawsuit for one flying off and hitting a rider in the head? |

I have officially lost my sense of humor with Cee Baileys. I have exchanged several messages with them about swapping my 4.5 over for a bolt-on model and haven't gotten a definitive response. Just ordered the Buell Tall Shield lower mounting hardware and hope it comes in before the shield whacks me in the face and Cee Baileys ends up supporting my family for life. |

Snowscum, The Cee Bailey +14 has terrible wind buffeting turbulence. I have one that I ended up cutting down and that didn't work either. |

I just ordered a Zero Gravity Sports Touring Shield. Based on the recall for the Buell Tall Windshield and Cee Bailey's decision to stop shipping their #1 shield, should I be looking to replace the quick disconnect parts with the tall shield recall parts? Thanks. |

I have the Zero Gravity screena nd have used it for a little over 2000 miles. So far it hasn't flown off or even loose. I ride the highway everyday in my commute at 80mph and plenty of weekend rides also. I haven't had any issues. But I did buy some replacement grommets and pins from Buell. I will also purchase the recall kit or make my own as a piece of mind. Just my experience... |

I got my special order Buell Tall Shield lower mounting hardware and installed it on my CB 4.5 over. I had to drill the holes out a bit, but it seems to have worked fine, I *still* have not heard from CB on replacement. I am shocked that a company with such a good reputation would provide such poor customer service and, by extension, take on the liability if the worst happens. |

just my .02 the tall buell windscreen sucks.. im 6'4" and it was an awful experence for me. It put the wind right into my face.. It was suggested to me to ride with no windscreen.. like the lightning.. and im really liking that its a little windy but its all clean air and no buffeting.. |

Snowscum, Wind protection is a very subjective thing. Some folks are comfortable with no windscreen whatsoever, while to others nothing short of the windshield off a Honda Civic will do. Mount it and try it for yourself. What didn't work for EG may be a dream come true for you. |

I exchanged emails with Charly @Parabellum last week (actually his wife). She said Charly was still really busy and that he would be in touch as soon as he could so we could arrange for him to have my Uly for a few more days. |

I just installed my Cee Bailey +14 and it seemed to be fine. It did shutter the front end and make my helmet noise louder but it did block alot of the wind off my shoulders that I had hoped. It did make my head wiggle just a bit but nothing like getting behind a truck using the stock one. So Ill run it for a while and see. |

I just got my Cee Bailey +2.5" used off ebay, and love it. Pushes the air to my neck leaving my helmet in clean air, but has much better coverage than stock. I took the bike up to 120 mph w/o issue, but only to check the strength of the mounts Has anyone had issue with this 2.5" shield coming off while driving? |

I haven't heard of any +2.5's coming off. I'm going to order the Buell tall shield lower mounting kit for my Cee Bailey +2.5 just to be safe. |

Good to hear. I picked up some 50# test fishing line and was considering tying off one of the mounts. In the off chance it does come loose, it won't take off my head, and hopefully will stay with the bike. |
