I have about 4500 miles now with my jardine and its sounds like a tin can... rattling pretty bad, i first thought that it was the strap but at the front of the can im seeing dark colored rubber string that im pulling out around it... Is this all an indication that i need to take it off and repack it all... and where do i get the re-pack kit... i have 6200 miles on the bike now and i have yet to get the 5k service done... money issues... how bad is that? |

i dont know alot about the jardine stuff,l but i do know that if the packing is gone and you keep running it that way, odds are its going to blow the thing apart so keep an eye on it. |

You can buy the packing material at bike shops. Around $25 a bag. Drill out the rivets on the back and pull the rear of the can off to repack. I have 8k miles on my Jardine and recently installed the quiet module which knocks the noise down 40% or so. This module provides back pressure so there should be no need for me to ever repack. The module was approx. $30 from American Sport Bike. |

How easy is it to put the quiet module in? |

Rigman, To install the module, you need to drill a small hole in the end of the pipe for the set screw. Then just slide it in. Clean the carbon deposits out of the end of pipe first though. |

Adrenaline0210 - I have some left over packing after re-doing my wife's Muzzy on her little Ninja. Probably enough to pack the Jardine. PM me your address and I will mail it out to you. |

I repacked my Jardine with stainless steel wool then used some self tapping screws to hold it all in place and it's worked pretty well. 1lb of the course is all you need and will probably last as long as the pipe. At 14 bucks its pretty cheep. |

Shouldn't need repacking yet. Had a yoshi on my GSX-R for 47,000km and when I pulled apart it was still fine. |

the exhaust pulses on out twins are very different from those of the gsx-rs. If your bike "pops" a lot that is also the sound of your packing getting broken up by the explosions in the can. I plan on re-packing mine as a preventative measure this winter. Some people on this board have had the packing nearly gone in 2k miles! Even less on some of the racers. I'm leaning toward the SS packing myself. Staintune has had great success with it over the years on some very high mileage Sport/touring bikes (ST1100 & VFR). I'm still looking at swapping my can out, but the guys at Hal's (halspa.com) did a very good job dialing my bike in with this combo. I'd hate to have to start over with a new map, unless the replacement would be quieter than the Jardine, and would flow more. Like an XBRR pipe built for the street XB series (HINT....HINT) Obviously it doesn't have to be louder to make more HP! |

I am now noticing the rivets in the front of the exhaust are all loose, kinda sounds like a ducati at idle with the vibrating sound... def need to re-pack it soon, how is the actuall jardine re-pack kit anyone ever done it? |
