Does anyone here know anything about a product that is put out by 3M(?) that is a thin piece of clear film and sticks to your tank w/o glue? If so, is this a good product, or if not, anyone have any other to recommend that would protect the tank from swirl marks caused by jacket, etc.? Thanks |

This is the stuff we've used - http://www.thetankslapper.com I had it on my previous bike, and it's currently used on my wife's SV. Works well. I'm not sure if it will stick to the (plastic) Buell airbox cover - I could probably try and let you know... |

since we are on the subject, i am looking for a belt buckle guard for the tank on my buell also. i like the polished look buell ones but its just not the right style for the green bike. was looking for a cheap one that would be flat black maybe or cheap one i could just paint to match or flat black |

Rhinowerx- Thanks. That is the one I was thinking about. I went further into there website and saw that they have a pre-cut set for Buells (XB's). Price is about 15 bucks. Think I will have a set sent my way. I like this because you really dont notice that it is on there. |

Here's something for those that have a problem sliding forward on the seat under braking : http://techspec-usa.com/overview.html They work great as MCN reported last year. and yes I emailed him about the spelling I put the TankSlapper kit on my FJR. a few of the pieces were high-quality 3M paper that were very sticky. Most weren't. After 1 year only the 3M pieces are still on. Turns out a good rainstorm will take off most of the pieces. (Message edited by josh_ on February 08, 2006) |
