That redline looks an aweful lot like the dyno HP curve on my sheet. Rolling Thunder didn't want to try and dig out a plugwire since my XB was the first one he handled, so I don't have a torque reading. If we weren't 10 bikes in line deep he would have but he didn't want to try to rush it. I am wondering if the redline is actually the stock system and the blueline is the Ti pipe?

LOL...I'd hope not - it'd be performing worse everwhere but below 3000!

wycked
tell ya lil secret.....Take your seat off and look for a yellow with a blue or green stripe(i can't remember) but anyways thats the dyno loop, instead of the clamp that goes around the spark plug wire, use the small clamp for electrical wires, that will do the trick,

I thank buell for this everytime I do dyno.

on the fire bolts look for it under the fairing on the left side

We learned that later, but I haven't had a chance to dyno it since I found out. Like I said it was Rolling Thunder's first dyno of an XB...

This is too weird...Corey calls up just the day before and raves how good the exhaust is...then posts this...strange. Then calls today and still raves about the pipe and claims that this is not him posting...whatever.

This is not a modified stock pipe with it's inherent design limitations. To even think that it would not need proper mapping is foolish, hello guys this is 2004, despite the ancient technology the XB's motors were born with, they still need proper fuel and air to make proper power. This pipe flow significantly better than any other pipe available and to think that you can just throw it on and hope it'll work optimaly is stupid.

Here's my offer since I can't trust anyone else to do it right...

I need a stock or near stock 9 or 12 in the NYC area to be brought into our shop. You buy the parts (techlusion, pipe and air filter) and we'll install and dyno tune the bike for no charge, you just pay for the hard parts. If you aren't happy with the results we'll take it off and put her back to stock. I'll need the bike for a few days...anyone interested please call 1-800-645-6521 ask for SKip, if he's busy he'll call you back...leave a message it's about dynoing a Buell.

It's funny because we usually make/sell slip on systems for the sportbike squids that only want the look or sound os a full system but are too cheap or ignorant to buy a powercommander let alone have their bike properly dyno tuned.

This system is not a slip on......

Ah...so you have figured the discriminating ways of the bad web...No worries Rob, we are spoiled with sponsors like Nallin/NRHS and Cyclerama who have told us and given examples of how easy it is to skew a dyno run. And well just looking around badweb I am sure you can get an idea of how we regard the gentleman you refered to.

Now, seriously, I don't have the $$$ to dish out for this system. But I will make you a counter offer. If I can get my bike out to you in NYC, you can use it to dyno baseline, put on the components, then dyno it again with tuning, then put it back to stock. Why am I offering this? because at somepoint I will be going to 1425cc, I know this for a fact. At that time, I would also be heavily interested in the Ti pipe. On my stock bike, even with a techlusion/powercommander set up...I don't see the gain for a streetbike being worth that much money.

Rob
I have nothing personally against you. I do not you from adam. You are stepping up to the plate on this and for that as a compeitor I thank you so much. You are the the first and not that it matters but I hold you in a higher regard for that.
But I believe it is on the DKF website that it says you won't need all the mapping and such. Well you just said we'd be foolish to think that.
So I am confused, and no I am not trying to rattle your chain on this, just pointing out what I read. Not that that makes it true. Or that you said that to them.
But with the drummer ( yes I have a very vested interest ) we too could get a lot more out of it with a power commander or techlusion. Thats a given. But I will say that from the beggining it was represented a lil different, either that or I am wrong.

But I do applaud you on what you are offering, but suggest that you spell it out in full.

Wyked
Not sure if you missed where we poated up the drummer on the Tilley race bike where we took off the race system and put stock twelve headers and the drummer on. It beat the race system all the way across the board by 1.5 hp. Not a big deal un till you realized that that was without remapping the unatainable race ecm, which can be programmed every 200 rpm. The drummer beat it and was running a 11 to1 fuel ratio. So imagine what it could do mapped correctly.

Even Don Tilley was surprised with what it did. So sometimes we can all be happily surprised.

Not saying which pipe you should buy, just stating facts.

and again I applaud rob for stepping up to the plate.

Then... Why don't you sponsor the race bike or at least donate a pipe to them? Isn't the ultimate goal more power as long as the weight difference isn't too great? I understand they are your former employer but... At the least why don't they buy a Drummer?

Hell, I'm so broke I can't pay attention.
But I'm still curious as anything as to how all the aftermarket stacks up when it comes to Buell. People that never even gave Buell a second thought are now after the Buell market. So far most all I've seen has been quality stuff. I'm glad to see it, aftermarket competition is good.

Thanks for the offer John, but I'm pretty confident that once the exhaust is installed and tuned, whoever's bike it is will want to keep the system on. When installed tested and tuned with a fuel optimizer, an air filter and the exhaust, the results will be significant.

Our shop has been in the high performance motorcycle market since 1973, at various times we've built bikes that have won and set records in virtually every motorized two wheel sport including land speed records, fastest and quickest drag bike in the world and AMA road racing champions. We're a dyno jet authorized tuning center and spend every day running high powered sport bikes on our Dynojet 250, no we're not running weezing Sportsters with the latest Vance and Hines Long Shots or jetting old pan heads, most of the time we're tweeking fuel injected bikes, the slowest ones will hit better than 160mph and we even have a street Hayabusa or two that make over 210 hp and a few turbo ones that make in excess of 425hp.

Ask Ciccotto or Barney about Orient Express or TiForce, I'm sure they'll tell you that we know what we're doing.

...not if you've added a XB to the list.

I emailed you my phone number Rob.

If you still need a bike for testing you can use mine.

I don`t doubt the tuning abilities of your shop for a second.

I`m sure that once the TiForce system is tuned with other mods (FI,airfilter, or bigbore kit) it will rip!

Just FYI ; ).

Dear John,
As much as I like to spend my precious free time "hassling" people for no good reason, please understand that Drummer is a full paying sponsor of BadWeB in addition to Tilley's also being a full paying sponsor of BadWeB. As reward for your haste to accuse me of hassling people, you may find that your username morphs temporarily into something a bit different from its normal form. Such is the penalty for annoying admin. : )
