Actually started mine up and let it run till the fan went on this weekend. Greg rode his to work one day last week. We need the precipitation but hoping any accumulation melts soon so I can get mine out for a run. It has been neglected. |

Actually, yesterday went to cmra races at msr track, a beer tasting party. All was good due to sporster, uelly, wife and I got out for the day..great day! Got home and dropped oil out since time to change. First time filter was pulled and cleaned. A few pix for ya!

Today I ordered a bunch of new parts for it . Trans output shaft bearing, fork seals and caps for the SS forks, taper roller bearing conversion for the steering head, rear isolator, plug wires, 2010 LED lightning/bolt taillight, new air box decals, Rooke risers, and a carbon fiber right side scoop. I'll bring my cases to the shop next week to split them and replace the bearing and seals (which I still need to pick up). Shooting for an March 31st finish date on the rebuild. |

Ordered a bunch of stuff for my Uly today. Braking front and rear rotors, new ceramic pads, Continental Conti Motions, and a smaller, short swingarm style carbon rear hugger to match my carbon RSS. |

new Throttle body and seals installed with Hylomar (actuallay permatex permasheild), new crankcase breather seals, plugs and wires too then I forgot the rag in the velocity stack. it was running like crap until it fouled the plugs. |

to go along in the spirit of the last post, who installs electrical outlets in a wall that high off of the floor, and I wonder if any of those projectiles from the above mounted wall game has found their way into said wall outlet? Come on, inquiring minds wish to know? (Just funning ya Nillaice!) |

ive seen other uly's more farkled, and took notes on how to do a few things 'imitation is the finest form of flattery' the bowling pin is for centerfire target practice. when they wont stand up anymore, the tops are cut off and become rimfire pins the outlet was tagged into a pre-existing one on the other side of the wall. a dart has yet to find it's way into it but you are right, I should put a child-safe plug in the unused outlet |

Re: the outlet. If the wall was designed to have a workbench against it, then that height outlet makes sense. Interesting observation on the dartboard, too... |

I've spent a lifetime observing people, places and things. Everyone has different perceptions of stuff. Wall outlets are based on the needs, true that. My wife came home from school one night and found me and 4 year old son putting hole in wall in garage to wire a compressor up kitchen side was a 50 amp outlet for stove. Turned it onto garage for 220 v for compressor and split off a couple of 110 to have more outlets in garage. Has worked for a number of years. On a different note, light switches are a certain height off of floor. Daughter had moved into a new to them house last year, and all her light switches are lower than the norm. I assumed perhaps a handicapped person had lived there and house was built to their specs for ease of operation. Life is full of differences and I enjoy understanding the why of it. |

This was my project on my Uly for the last couple days. Split the cases to replace the output shaft bearing, trans seal, and crank seal, and clean and re seal the cases in the process. In this picture the cases look black- that's actually just 74,000 miles of grime. Can you tell which one is new and which is the old? I polished the derby and inspection covers, as well as the muffler strap, while I was at it. All better now .

Tyres.... 2009 XB12X.... Removed the Pirelli Angel GTs. They lasted 8,900 miles, over 7,000 miles with the bike fully loaded. I highly recommend these tires if your riding is on paved roads. I'm having the Metzeler Tourance Next remounted. The rear has about 2,500 miles and might get a total of 5,000 miles. Barry Hollister, CA |

Had a bit of time to go and datalog today finally. all our company left and stingrays won 4-3 in a shootout hanging on to a 2 point lead in their division. happy day indeed! wanted to see what thoughts you guys had on the graphing of my o2 sensor. info is giving in percentages. ive read the ecmspy manual on what this should mean. 23000 miles on bike and what I'm seeing is a shift to reading rich. my afv has gone down from 101 or so to 96.5 indicating a fueling change. also , I barely hit 200c on temp and then slowing down in traffic temp went down to 170 c or so on head temp. we had a front come in and it is a bit cooler today than what it has been. before starting bike , spy said iat was 62f, head temp was 56f and ambient was 64f, so I feel these three sensors are good. thoughts everyone?

Simple but useful: both lamps on mod. I did it the proper way without wire swapping. Instead soldered the supply and passing wires inside the headlight switch housing. The red piece wire serves as a jumper.
This way of doing it has several advantages over the wire swap. In particular you don't risk damaging the circuitry because the power stays in the main headlight circuit, also lights dim on startup as they should and you retain the ability to 'blink'. And now the question - what the hell is this? There is no cable meant for this hole. I'm tempted to plug it.

had to work Saturday and took uellymae to get there. 50 miles each way.on way home got off into one of our famous rain cells for 30 miles. been suspecting my o2 sensor is failing slowly. I have been datalogging and reading files trying to see how to read all this info. without changing maps for some time, my afv has dropped from a 101/103 value to a 94 value. after the ride in all the rain sat. I checked afv tonight and it had gone further down to 91.3. shows how humidity, temperature, and just riding in s sh t storm can change this value. now to ride in dry weather and see what it does. I will datalog and look at o2 sensor values again and see if they go in a different direction. on a side note, are there any other south Carolina stingray fans on badweb? game 7 tomorrow night! |

So after the talk about headlight mods on here and ADV I took my switch apart and did the mod at the switch like Hunger did there.(thanks) But instead of making a jumper since my soldering skills are not that good,I just cut and spliced the yellow and blue wires about a half inch from the switch. Then put the headlight powers back to the stock wires at the Hid modules. It sure seems like the bike cranks faster now. |

Sagehawk - I suspect my AFV issue was also due to riding in cold weather. I logged and tuned during a sunny day but rode at night. Now a month later temperatures have risen overally and the AFV stays put. Mnrider - Good job. Yeah, soldering wires hanging in the air is really annoying |

Angled them down a bit, as they are bright! Have clear covers that I can swap with the amber ones in case I really want to annoy people. Now if I just throw a white flyscreen on, I'd get a lot more solo occupant cage drivers out of the HOV lane. . . Ride Safe. |

Hunger, I think that hole is a drain. Might want to leave that open. I'm not positive but it would make sense since nothing is really sealed on the housing. |

I went out and rode that sombich! Had a 100 mile round trip run for parts that would fit in my pocket. Second time out in five days! It is running great, traffic sucked, and it rained, I did not have my rain gear, but it was great to get out and stretch it's legs a bit. |
