Cut and weld would fix that! |

A cut and jb weld would fix that too, if you put a suitably long tight fitting threaded rod in it with a lot of epoxy. |

The easy way to get a lowered X1, S1, S2, S3, etc. is to start with an M2L. M2Ls are the cheapest "tubers", may as well do it the easy way. |

Gear Not certain you get the same return from an FI vs Carbed bike. Each to their own. Regards |

I have all, and right parts now! I might be able to get this buttoned up in time for next week's open house.

FWIW, my M2 Low shock measures 15 inches eye to eye prior to putting it on the bike. I'm just a few days away from being done... |

All done. This is what I know. Original / stock shock off the bike measures 14.6 inches. The M2 Low shock is 15 inches. I've been reading here that the geometry of the swingarm linkage would yield about a 3x gain per shock length change. ie. Half inch longer shock would make the bike up to 1 and a half inch shorter. This is not correct. At least not for me. My bike dropped just the half inch difference between the shocks... I'm definitely not in danger of bottoming out. And I'm okay with that. It is a noticeable difference. I can come to a stop on the ball of my foot easily now (tripodding). It feels on par with my Firebolt. Raised the fork tubes to match the drop in the rear. It has bar risers, so there was room to spare for this... Swapped in the low kickstand. Also set the suspension soft. It feels good. This bike is "mine" now.
