Well, looks like I'm picking up another S2... Which means I'm going to need a set of my side plates to upgrade the side kick stand to the later model. Sure makes a difference, and I just can't risk it since my current s2 is so much more stable... Since I'm going to have the machinist cue up for a set, now is the perfect time to jump in if anyone else wants a set. This will probably be the last time I do this as this will be the last S2 I buy.... Anyone else need a set? |

No guys.... I'm SURE this is my last tube frame Buell!!! Between the Buells, the Triumphs, the Guzzis, the Harleys....., I'm done for a while!!!!! So the side plate run is just because I'm buying one last S2...... |

Sorry guys, these are expensive..!!! But worth it, You start with a big thick plate for the dimensional shape, make a bunch of chips!!! But in the end.... ABSOLUTELY worth it!! Once I get a quote from the machinist for a set I'll also get a price for a left plate only... Though the left plate is the expensive one in the set.... I'll get a quote for Full length set like stock Short set (no passenger pegs) And left plate only Once I get the quotes the machinist only wants to run the order for two weeks then start cutting |

I suspect these will be too high for me, but I'm interested so far. |

John: I think it's the biggest improvement you can do to an S2 or S2T. |

O I'm sure it's good, have seen the pics. I made my own kickstand which mounts to the primary, and seems to work quite well so far. |

I had a thought last weekend, when riding my S2 to and from the WVBR (about 1,000 HARD miles in 4 days through the mountains of WV on a 20 year old motorcycle...with all my camping gear on board). I'm one of the lucky ones, who has the dropped peg mounts (and one of the original set of conversion sideplates for use with a late tuber sidestand). But, I know those peg mounts are rare as hens teeth now... and I'm sure lots of people (since we're not getting any younger) would like a lower peg position than stock. Personally, I don't think I could do stock pegs on mine, not with my legs. How about a variation - wouldn't be any more material or any thicker, just a different shape - with a 1" lower peg mounting position, to mimic the S2T peg location? Just a thought...I'll be quiet now... |

Might be easier to reproduce the lowering pegs instead of redesigning the side plates...

Pegs are the same, the lowering is from an offset-style mounting point. Remove peg, install offset bracket, stick peg on the other side of the bracket. Just an idea - no biggie. Like I said, I gots mine |

I got mine too. I'm thankful my S2 is modified already (was when I got it, don't know how as it's not "bent"), that it doesn't have the S2 lean. |

Photos of the machined plates: the blocks behind the plates are the stock that the machinist begins with to cut down for the part. Big blocks due to the dimensional shape of the plates. Which is why, when combined with the amount of machining (big stock plus machine work) these are relatively expensive, but still cheaper than repair and repaint after an accidental tip over....
full length set (for passenger pegs)
short set for single rider only
installed on my S2
I'll have cost estimate today which will include, price of plates, kickstand pivot pin (machined from tool steel) and shipping to me, then shipped to you. I'm in for two sets, I'm going to buy a short set for the bike I'm picking up, and one for a future "who knows"...but really.. this is my last S2... |

Ok... I got the price quite from the machinist. its only slightly more expensive than it was last year (price only went up $100.00)! The full length set is $1,150.00 shipped The short set (no passenger peg mount point) is $1,000.00 shipped. If you want insurance then its extra to cover the exact cost of insurance. I know these are expensive, but they revolutionized the stability of my bike, so I am in for another. I'll let this sit here for 2 weeks then I'm going to turn in the order. Jolly 2 sets / 1 short set / 1 long set |

If anyone is "ON THE FENCE" and you want to see more about how well they work PM me for a video of how stable the bike is, I took a video of me shaking the bike while on the kickstand... I'm checking on the cost for a left plate only since they are expensive. I had one or two folks request a left plate only the first/last time I ran an order.... |

left side only, which is the expensive side with the kickstand mount, is $725.00 sure wish I could do these cheaper, but again, I make nothing on this, passing on straight machining and shipping cost... full set $1,150.00 short full set $1,000.00 left side only $725.00 |
