Is it really going to be shown this month at a big bike show somewhere? |

Well, SOME new model is going to be introduced at the AIMExpo in Orlando this Thursday at 11:30 AM. However, we have an Anonymous post from about a month ago in the EBR forum saying it will NOT be the 1190AX (posted right after the AIMExpo's website posted that EBR would reveal the all-new 1190AX at the show!): The event is listed in the official AIMExpo 2014 brochure here: http://issuu.com/babcox/docs/aimexpo_show_director y_2014?e=1577724%2F9628590 So, it's anyone's guess whether it'll be the AX or something else. The program also says EBR will be among several manufacturers offering demo rides. |

I don't know anything about this ..other than i'd like to see what they come up with....but i spent last weekend riding thru WV with some old school Buell guys that were talking about the AX and they seemed to think ...and said they had on good authority that its not going to be an 1190...but maybe a single cylinder adventure /utility bike. They also theorized that it may take a while ...because of...they have to get this right the first time. The Ulysses while we all love it does not have a stellar record for dependability...and likewise...Erik doesn't have the best reputation for customer service...whether it was his fault Harley dumped him or not...bottom line is a lot of his customers were left in the cold...and many are disenfranchised. He can't afford to take a chance on having another bike with lots of small problems ...I think we might...down the road see another big twin Adventure bike from EBR...But From what these guys were saying we might be seeing a smaller more dirt bike oriented AX in the mean time |

Hmmmmmmm....... To date....nearly everything I've read about " the AX" has been internet speculation. I'd be amazed if it had anything in common with the 1190. Court |

Sorry for the derail, but I see that Leslie Prevish is one of the speakers at AIM Expo. I believe she was the head of BRAG at one time. Nice Lady. I wonder what she's doing these days. |

Well, I know Court doesn't really know me, but when I saw his Uly up for sale I immediately had the thought that this was to make room for the new AX. Court, you always have the inside track. |

This is at the expo and I think it is pretty innovatively awesome. Watch the video. http://www.gibbssports.com/quadski I could see a Jeep that could do this being quite the vehicle. Military applications for sure. |

Per one Badwebber in attendance, no announcement from EBR this morning. He posted a pic showing a gunmetal gray 1190RX with red wheels (see the EBR sub-forum). Looks like 2015 may be a "bold new colors" year. |

Hugh, Maybe Erik couldn't be there on time or the bike hadn't shown up or something else wasn't in sync with the original promised intro time. Hard to believe that they'd just use the Expo for the same old same old. That would certainly be a big let down. |

If I'm not mistaken the Expo doesn't actually begin until Saturday. Thursday and Friday are Press days. |

Yes, but the press days are typically the ones used to generate buzz for anything really new that an OEM wants the world to know about. |

Well, nothing announced today AFAIK. Apparently they're showing some new accessories, including exhaust tips and a "off-road only" ECM for the RX and SX that allows deletion of the secondary muffler, carbon fiber front and rear fenders and heel guards, and Ohlins forks. Here's a shot of the gray and red RX. It does look pretty sweet:

All that loot and still no slotted or drilled rotor on the front? I have to say...In my opinion Erik is going down the wrong rabbit hole again....I mean....how many RXs/SXs do you really think he'll sell? Theres really a limited buyers market for a 185hp bike ....Unless his plan is to keep numbers low and sell pretty much exclusively to the race crowd....I can't see EBR being a long term success ....The AX on the other hand....assuming its even really more than just our collective wet dream....there would definitely be a long term market for a middle of the road displacement adventure bike.... |

Slotting a rotor on a motorcycle is about the most counterproductive thing you can do to it. At least if you go all the way through. The best of the options is to groove the rotor . . like you will see on the above EBR. I have a collection of various rotors that were tested on the S1. Since that time there have been a number of amazing developments. |

Every EBR-related photo from the 2014 AIMExpo I've seen on Facebook (EBR's apparent chosen advertising medium) is underlined by a slew of comments asking about the AX. If that's any indication, a LOT of people are looking forward to it and were really hoping to see it at this show. |

A whole slew of research . . . found that cutting all the way through the rotor diminished rotor effectiveness. There were several elements to improving things . . .with a little help from some car racers. One was the grooves . . another was the duct and dumping tons of air right on the calipers. The Facebook marketing thing is completely foreign to me but I suppose it works. The AX hype appears to be kind of an internet "self generated. I'm not sure that other than the Future AX reference and a few references in interviews that any content has ever been discussed. It seems to have become that elusive . . . "I'm not buying the RS, RX or SX cause I'm waiting on the AX". It's all most as if some marketing guy created a reason NOT to purchase or to forestall a purchase There is commitment or representation EBR would violate if they didn't introduce anything until 2017. It seems however that eager "might buy-ers" and overzealous PR folks (like the one who alluded to the imminent unveiling, have over buzzed things. My fear now is that any subsequent intro may be quite anticlimactic. May have been prudent to employ a "reason to wait" strategy by unveiling a "where we are at this point" development presentation . . kind of like Ford did with the new Mustang and the 2015 F-150. |

Or should I say the F-150 that has been the #1 selling vehicle in America for 32 years and the best selling pickup truck for 43 years. Like the truck or not. . . they've had an outrageous following with their "FUTURE VEHICLES" campaigns |
