I have a room reserved and planning on coming. BUT Belt broke, so I put a new belt on, and now need a new front pulley. $250 Front fork is leaking oil and drips down on the tire. Not good for corners. $300 New rear tire, but the front, can it last for a trip that long? Will I need A new tire? $120 Plus the gas to get there. Looking bleak. Money is thin. Might have to drive the car and go cheap....We will see. REX |

Some options. not looking for charity. But here is an idea. -Anyone looking for an S2 frame? -Anyone looking for S2 bodywork? -I also have my Second S2 for sale. needs fork seals, new battery, carb cleaned. $2500, or $2000 with the yellow body work, vrs. the Red Bodywork.... Just thinking.......I have an S2 seat, some s2 tank bras, carbon fiber front fender, set of bodywork, not the best condition ( tank okay, but the tail section needs repair around the tail light) If someone does need some of these items, you are trailering your bike there and need parts, we might make a deal. just thinking. If interested, I could send photos on any of the items. Could cover my gas. I also have a room reserved. If I do not go, it would be available. thanks, REX |

Has saddle bag mounts. I am having the saddle bags painted now to match the s2. With Saddlebags. $4300. |

Trinity Twisties: TT's in the Alps We are on for June 27-29 at the Red Hill Resort. There is a motel, duplexes, and cabins. I have cabin #9 for all three nights so if anyone else wants to ride in on thursday they won't be alone there. The phone is (530) 623-4331 and Patty is the entire staff. So don't be calling after 8pm PST as she needs to get her rest. The place has lots of multiple bed options so you can buddy up and split costs. She says bike groups are her favorite customers. www.redhillresorts.com The town is Weaverville California, in the Trinity Alps of Northern California. Every route there is a fantastic ride, except 299 west out of Redding. I came in on that last summer and it is in a huge widening and straightening project with pilot cars and gravel for miles. Instead, coming from the east use 36 out of Red Bluff and connect with 3 north to 299. That stretch of road will blow your mind. From the coast you can come over on 36 or 299. Having ridden both on my S2 I would give top honors to 36, less traffic and much twistier. From the north you can take 3 out of Yreka and come over Scott Mountain. Saturdays event can be an all day ride out to the Redwoods and back. Lunch will be at Eel River Taproom and Grill. I suggest you take hwy3/36 to get there, and then going back you can take 101/299 if you want a loop. That does take you through Eureka and there will be more traffic on 299 then on 36, but can be fun. I have ridden both routes and I think that on a motorcycle the 3/36 route is more fun. Also, the Eel River location is only a short distance from the Avenue of the Giants if you want to cruise the redwoods. 36 also goes through some great old growth. This is a nice short ride that goes over and along the reservoir that looks like a good ride. https://goo.gl/maps/7mV5f And another short ride. https://goo.gl/maps/FDP47 Places to eat- http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g33244-Weav erville_California.html A lot of these are withing walking distance of the cabins. So far it looks like 11 confirmed, maybe 12. Here is my list- Eric, Jaci, Shane, Macy, Lynrd, Rhonda?, Mark and son, Rex, Jack, Don. Does anyone have any others to add? I know that TT'ies in The Alps is a long haul for most of you back in the midwest, but you know, it's not the destination, it's the trip there and back that makes a long distance trip the memory of a lifetime. |

Thanks. Currently I am taking some S2 parts to Lynrd in Southern Cal, so needing to bring my truck. So I am going to put the White S2 into the back of the truck. Thanks, though. I have a room for Friday and Saturday night. Two beds, I believe. Anyone else looking for a room to split? just wondering? REX |

Arrggh! Why does my rear caliper cap say Dot 4 and the sticker on the frame beside it say Dot 5?!!!! (After I put in fresh brake fluid this spring.) Answer: because I don't have enough to do to get ready! ....Fixed now. Hitting the road tomorrow, the long way down. See y'all soon. |

We are pulling Macy's S3 from the for-sale shelf as she feels better about riding a Buell to the rally instead of her R1150RT. So I will be on my S2 and she will be on her S3. Only problem I see with mine is the rear base gasket is starting to weep. It will be fine until next winter. Other than that it is good to go. And Macy's S3 is in excellent condition as I had it all fixed up to sell. So it should be a great ride down! I haven't heard of anyone riding in from back east, I guess it is only west coast riders who will ride halfway across the country for a weekend get together. Maybe someone will surprise us? |
