Unusually warm day here in the NE (Providence, RI) and so I warmed the bike up and took 'er on an errand to the local home despot. First off, it took a few tries to start up (no surprise), but I did have a small puddle of gasoline which seemed to be dripping out of rear cylinder (or near), below the rear exhaust header – obviously, fuel built up when the bike injector was pumping and I was cranking, but I wasn't sure if the leak indicated a problem or if it was expected? Second thing is that I couldn't get neutral indicator to light up for the first half of the trip. When I tried warming it up on sidestand, it would die (as I let clutch out). However, when I would let clutch out with sidestand up, while on the bike, it kept running and was actually in neutral. Bike has been in unheated garage on a battery tender, so it has gotten cold and hasn't run for a few months, but I wasn't sure if neutral indicator disappearing was expected after a bit of cold weather, or not. Thanks in adv! |

Maybe a cold (sticking) neutral switch. If the stand is down and it is in neutral it should stay running. |

the neutral light started working and it would idle on the side stand after about 30 minutes of riding... so a sticky neutral switch would make sense. is that a common occurrence? |
