Without spending $300 on lifters... the rest is explanatory.... Mine are shot. |

Jims. You have to spend some dough to get quality parts. Every factory lifter I've used has failed. One almost cost me an engine. They're usually toast for me after about 25K. |

I put Jim's Hydro Solid in mine about 13 years ago. Still working like they were when new. I don't particularly ride as hard as I used to and I don't do the miles I once did, but I do like to rev it through and hold on to the gears when I feel like a bit of a thrash. With 100rwhp and a decent lifting cam I need reliable lifters up to the task. If you're running anything but stock engine you need a better performing lifter imho. That said, I'd only be looking at better lifters if anything but stock included a more hairy cam otherwise I don't really see the need unless you're playing around the rev limit in every gear all of the time. Jims hydrosolids are good units but will require setup. you will have to also buy adjustable pushrods and a collapsible pushrod cover kit. |

Just out of curiosity, how expensive are the factory stock ones? |

No way in hell I'm ever running adjustable pushrods. Next. So far you guys only said to buy nice brands. Such as what? ScreaminEagle style? |

Yes I have Taperlite adjustable pushrods, but once set up you'll never need to again. I used Sportster pushrod tubes as they're cheap and readily available, and look good on a Buell, and do collapse! Yes I imagine this does require even more expense. Sorry for the lack of info, previous post. In my defense it's been a lot of years since I had to do anything but clean the pushrod tubes Rocket in England |
