Check the usual things like a loose plus wire, fouled plug, etc however since it idles ok that suggests either a air/fuel issue or ignition. When it is doing this you could also try pulling out the choke slightly to see if it runs better or worse. Also when idling spray some wd-40, etc around the intake manifold to see if idle changes. Intake seals are a common issue and need replacing. If they are allowing air in, that will affect running big time. |

Make sure the gas tank vent isn't stopped up. |

in addition to what has already been suggested , i would check that the tank gas filter is not clocked up & restricting flow. also if it has a vacum shut off gas petcock. that could possibly be a problem at higher rev. if it was electrical issue i would think it would miss fire. so think its a gas supply issue. |

For your engine to run correctly you must have: FUEL - correct amount of good gas flowing to the carburetor and to the engine ... AIR - the correct amount, meaning the air cleaner is clean and the intake seals are not bad ... SPARK - clean, correctly gaped good spark plugs from the coils by way of a good battery ... "WELL", that sounds very simple and straight forward does it not ??? |

Glad that it worked out for you. First time that I tried raising the needle on my M2, I used too thick of a washer and it would bog above about half throttle. Carbs are fairly easy to diagnose if we just listen to what they are telling us! |
