"tuber" "fueler" these've been familiar, air-cooled slang terms for a while now so, what’s the equivalent slang for the Rotax models? it’s been on BadWeb before, yet I just can't recall..... thx guys (Message edited by firstbuell on April 12, 2012) |

I've always called my CR the Red Lobster. Transformer, lobster bike, alien pitbull, all have been used to describe my CR. I think they fit well. |

I call mine Buella. It's fitting, since I knew a girl in college that I used to love riding. Her name was Buella also. |

Darth Stator: perfect nickname for any 1125 with multiple stator failures. Especially, black or red bikes. |

thx for various responses, folks as a reprise, my specific request is: what’s the 1125-model equivalent of "tuber" & "fueler"? seeking the general slang, not yours in particular..... |

Oh,I see, sez the blind man....I'll play - pick one: "mono" as in monocoque "winger" as in airplane wing which in some planes is also the fuel tank "lowseegee" as in low CG "LCG" see above "eleven and a quarter" ( I'm telling my age ...like a deuce and a quarter(buick's 225)) but I think I like "eleven twenty-five" best...at least when I ride with my rice burner/Bavarian sport-bike friends...that's what they refer to it as. |

ha! a Dutchman over in "Quick Board" suggested their own Euro-slang, "boiler" [similar to the vintage GT750 Water Buffalo-ish "kettle", also suggested here] those 2 contribution seem friendlier than my smarmy faves from above, "Stator Killer" & "Darth Stator" - sad, but true, eh? well, I certainly didn't expect that my search would yield the following conclusion - a widely-used slang term for the 1125s simply hasn't developed...... |

Perhaps the best nickname for an 1125 is what Buell called its engine in the initial introduction: the "Helicon" engine. When someone asks me what kind of Buell that is, I respond "the new 1125R with the even newer Rotax Helicon engine". Then I go into detail.........if allowed and they are interested. |

"Going into detail" is a long story even when someone ask "who makes Buell?". |

I've had a totally different experience when it comes to strangers asking about my 1125: If people aren't into bikes, they don't know one bike from another and they don't even care. If people are into bikes, they know exactly what I'm riding, because nothing else looks like an 1125, even from a distance. The pods must be a dead giveaway. |

Red 1125cr: "Crusty" (as in Crusty the Crustacean) "That Stink Bug" (my buddy asks, "you ridin' that stink bug today?") "Ferris" (as in "Bueller?") |

The term used most often on BadWeB is simply "1125" which works just fine. |

Its either 1125, or beast.... ones obvious thee other is because all the kids around here no matter how into bikes they are or what kinda bike they have there scared of mine. I have kids with liter bikes all day say how my bike would spank there's. I just roll with it they don't realize after so fast I loose my top end haha |
