okay so i am replacing a cam and just now saw that the book calls for replacing the cam bolt. M12x1.0x60mm shoulder bolt. torque to 30lbft + 80deg. that's a big ass bolt to think it's gonna stretch with that low of a load. loctite and call it good? |

I would just replace it. You know the size that you need so just find a Grade 8 equivalent of a metric bolt for it that is the same type. |

Shoulder bolts aren't stock items usually, made to order... unless the HD/B dealer has them. To add... to me +80 implies stretch. I'd FIND new. Z (Message edited by zac4mac on April 07, 2012) |

Is it worth trying an Aprilia shop ? As the Mille engine came from the same factory it's possible that some parts are the same ... |

Zac that +80deg and the 12.9 class of bolt. Yeah new bolt. HD has two in the sys, one in Co. the other in Or. So 3-5 day wait. |

As for Aprillia last I knew we didn't have one. In jax anymore. I did however check out the can-am dealer. |
