While I'm not a CR fan (just personal preference), I think that if somebody bought it and ordered $800 worth of EBR stator bits, they would absolutely have gotten their monies worth and then some. That's new SV money... and while the SV is a great bike, it sure ain't no 1125... |

That's not a terrible price... it's about market, I think. I figure he's got 4-4.5k in it... |

It's worth 3x that price in grin factor alone! But, the market on used bikes reeks, so it is what it is... Wayne |

I'd buy one for that. Mine is easily worth its weight in gold. Just an amazing platform - it makes a hack like me look like I know what I'm doing (and having had the unfortunate experience of seeing me on a track more than once, Steve knows what a feat that is)! I don't see why people on this (a BUELL) board insist on slamming the bikes, and peoples asking prices. List on the CR was $11,700 and it was worth every penny of THAT. C'mon, Steve...you know better! Or, did yours do something recently to anger you? |

That's a good price for for that bike. People are now getting 47-5000 for 08's with big mileage |

Sure, 2 years ago. HD just simply jettisoned the whole works in a boneheaded move. Prices are going back up, I've seen them listed at $7500-8000 recently. I'm still a little bent about the whole fiasco, but like I've said before, I'd _still_ buy mine at the price I paid back in June of 08, even knowing that the price would get cut in half a little over a year later. I got to ride mine longer, so that takes some of the price sting out of it. Still have it and I have NO intention of selling it anytime in the foreseeable future. Things would have to go horribly south for me to even consider selling mine. |

"Things would have to go horribly south for me to even consider selling mine." Me too, I think I'm in it for the long haul. I really love my bike and can't really think of anything I would replace it with. The above is a good deal though. |

That's a great price,in May 2009 I paid 15,000 for my CR in Alberta Canada and that was 3000 less than the comparable KTM and 4000 less than a Ducati. I get a laugh at all you guys that bought these bikes at the discounted price makes me think you wouldn't be riding a 1125 at all if you would have had to pay full price. By the way I loved my CR so much I bought a R.IMO Mike |

Nope. I wouldn't be riding an 1125 at full price. I bought an 08 in late 09 at roughly shutdown prices, literally a day or two before the shutdown. I wasn't going to spend $15k on *any* motorcycle. An $8k new bike with warranty was worth it to me since I was planning to commute on it, and it was (and still is) by FAR the most I've spent on a vehicle. 5k miles in, I hated the thing. A competent dealership, a few warranty repairs, and a race ECU later, at 31k miles, I love it. And if I'd not purchased the 1125, I probably wouldn't have an XB9 or Blast right now either. And probably wouldn't be drooling over the 1190RS. |

All the smart ones took advantage of the deal and bought more. If I didn't know about the new EBR bikes, I would pick up another 1125. |

As Freezerburn840 noted, In California, especially the Los Angeles area, Buell fire sale prices did not materialize. Half retail price for what looks to be a barley used 09 CR doesn't seem to bad for LA. There are LA dealers that want 8K for a 08 R. Maybe it's due to having a year round riding season. If it were an "R" I would snap it up. |

Here's some perspective... 15 years ago my S2 cost my 10K+. So should I be pissed that I spent 10K in 1996 dollars on a bike that is half as capable as one that resales for 5.5K in 2011? |

yeah. this deal is quite good in California and I believe there is something to be said for year round riding here. Thats why we pay a little more. So this CR is a steal here with those miles. Car dealers are going by Kelley blue book I assume and motorcycle dealers are using Nada as a basis for pricing. |

> "In California, especially the Los Angeles area, Buell fire sale prices did not materialize." That's odd. I guess that means that LA dealers can afford to screw their customers. H-D gave the $5,000 discount and the remaining bike inventory to the dealers that signed up to be a Buell warranty service center. If your dealer got the $5,000 incentive and didn't pass the savings along to the customer, well, that's a problem with that dealership screwing their customers. I called every dealership in several nearby states to find my bike during the fire sale. I had a dealer in my state tell me that the factory's $5,000 kickback was for him, not for me! He stood fast on the pre-fire sale pricing. So I bought my bike from the out of state dealer and rode it to his store to laugh at him. |

You can't really put a price on what makes you happy. We couldn't wait to get one back in 07 just before the 08 models were released. I never plan on selling mine and resale only matters at that point. If the bike still does what the brochure advertised it would at 12 grand but the market says it's only worth 4 grand that's the buyer's problem. Nobody can tell me different or devalue my bike based on the company not being around anymore. Erik Buell has a lot of the parts we need to keep our bike going for years to come and the skeptics waiting for the price to drop even more will keep missing out as we continue to ride and build memories for years to come. |

Timebandit, I am with you on getting the best pricing. The firesale made my dream bike more within my reach so I am thankful for it, but I would have paid more had that bike been 12 grand. |

The firesale made my dream bike more within my reach so I am thankful for it, For me, it allowed me to keep my Uly and get the CR had it not been for that, I wouldn't have one today. And as I said before, it's worth 3X what I paid for it in grin factors alone. Wayne |

I have Glock 17 magazines I paid $125 to get during the Clinton Ban I can now buy them for $20 Do I cry about it? Nope, just buy more and enjoy the low prices Little different, but as a poster above said, the low pricing allowed them to add a 1125, instead of replacing a bike |

That's funny Bandit - I bought my R at Woodstock HD for fire sale price because my local dealer in MI was price gouging just a bit. Please tell me you didn't buy yours in MI? |

What truly amazes me was that in 2008 and 2009 Buell was having a problem "unloading" these bikes. Nobody (few people) wanted to buy them, and the insurance rates were just ridiculous. Dealers were slashing prices on the 1125 even before the fire sale, while all of the air cooled bikes maintained their prices. When the fire sale came along, the 1125 became really cheap and the air cooled bikes still stayed expensive. I remember the dealers wanted $12,000 for a Uly and $5500 for an 1125R. Those of us who took advantage of the deal got a great, world-class bike for peanuts. Of course, everyone who reads the threads in this forum already knows that. Fast forward a couple years and everything has changed. The bikes are appreciating again in price, and my insurance quote is 1/4 of what was when I first bought it. I still haven't figured that last part out. |
