Yup, it appears the ECM took a dump. Was throwing a check engine light, running ruff, hard to start, no fan, error codes. Replaced with a different ECM, flashed it and it runs great now!! Thanks Xopti!! |

Next up, A component of the charging system has decided it no longer wants to work... (while in the midst of a ride no less)... (Message edited by Paint shaker on November 11, 2011) |

Do all three test on the stator before you just change the Voltage Regulator. DAMHIK! If it passes all three test then check out the VR and 77 connector. |

When you say flashed it on the ECM install, do you mean TPS reset? Looking to replace my ECM soon. Thanks. |

Xopti (MIke) used ECMspy to flash the new ECM with the data from the old ECM. TPS reset as well. Got the bike off the truck today. Put it on the charger for about 15 min. Unplugged all connections by the pully and reconnected them. Bike fired right up. Multi meter showed the voltage was dropping and didn't increase with RPM over 2000 rpm+. I am thinking regulator but that would be too easy. Knowing my luck it's probably the stator... (Message edited by Paint shaker on November 12, 2011) |
