So I bought my xt with d&d slip on for the exhaust, way to loud for me, thinking I might want to go back to stock or something more ear pleasing. What year stock would fit my 09 xt and does a 984 muffer fit, does it sound the same as the orginal? |

Any XB12 muffler will work. The Uly specific stock exhaust has a different tip to help clear the kickstand, but that is only a minor issue you can easily work around if you cannot find one with the extended tip. Do not get the XB9 muffler, it was not designed for the 12 motor, it has different internals, and does not have the actuator valve like the XB12 stock muffler. Also, D&D is probably the loudest exhaust you can get for that bike, just about anything else will be quieter and more reasonable. |

Odd, Buell replaced hundreds (?) of serviceable rusty mufflers on warranty. Mine was one of them. I offered the dealer 50 bucks for the one they took off my bike but they wouldn't do it. Probably in the local landfill because I doubt they shipped it back to Buell. What a shame, if all those perfectly good mufflers were summarily shitcanned. The new muffler they put on my ULY looked just like the original within months so it wasn't like the replacements were in any way "new and improved". |

Not stock, but should be quieter than what you have.

I have an 06 Uly with the stock exhaust and I'm looking to go louder. If you'd be interested in working out some sort of a trade, I would definitely be interested. The stock can on mine is in good shape, previous owner started to develop aformentioned rust issues, but had the rust blasted off and the can repainted. If you're interested please shoot me an email! elsychra(at)gmail*dot*com. Or a PM, not sure if this forum has those. I'm brand new here and haven't seen a link for PMs yet, but I might just not be seeing the forest for all the trees. Ed Sychra |

PM's go to your email directly. There isn't an inbox or an actual messaging system on this board like most others. Not sure of the value of a stock pipe, but I'm sure there's guys here that can let you know. I've never messed with an XB stock pipe yet, only 1125's. |

Very scrumptious pipe, D Adams. What is that? |

It's an RT-XB3. I build them for discriminating individuals. Most of my work so far has been for 1125's, but I got talked into building some for the XB's and this is one that I came up with. It's all stainless and works well. http://www.keda-design.com/ and then click on the page for it on the left side. |

Here's my Keda Design pipe on my XT. Nice pipe, well built, I buffed it. Nice tone, no drone at hwy speeds. More low end torque, easy wheelies now, not that it took much before, but I had to slide back on the seat. Now it comes up even sitting at the front of the seat. |

Here's another in raw (unpolished) form. It's a RT-XB1. Got about 9 hp out of it without any tuning, I'm sure it needs it though.

Dean, Beautiful job. Love the GTAWs. What does it sound like? Is it loud? |

Yeah, this one is a little louder than the oval one when you twist the throttle. It's not bad at idle or low rpm, but when you open it up, you definitely know it. |
