Ok, I got to run them for about 100 miles today. I have to say that so far, I'm pretty impressed. VERY rounded profile (which I like). Very stable in a straight line. You do have to work a little more to bend them into turns, but I like that in a tire. Feel planted in the turns. Once I got the edge scrubbed in, there was not a single slip from them. Balanced about the same as any other tire. Rear required 3/8 of an ounce to balance. Front took a little more at 7/8 of an ounce. I think my front rim may be a little heavy on one side. Thus far, I would recommend them. I'll have a better review after a weekend in Suches. |

Knowing your affinity to Storms, I am not surprised to hear that you liked the profile and turning capability of the Shinkos Jeremy. After prying a set onto the Uly this Spring and scrubbing, the Ravens still seemed a little sketchy to me--however I realized after a couple thousand miles that I had previously grown so used to the dual-compound feel that I was still expecting that tangible transition accelerating out of turns. If you're not expecting it, they give roost a little quicker on the loose stuff than a lot of other common Uly tires, but they get surprisingly stable once you back off the throttle. I've put about 6k on this season you can barely notice any wear. Hope you enjoy the same for the Tuber! |

Well 1,500 miles and the Uly still feels like it is wondering around. Getting a little more used to it but I still don't like it. Spent 3 days riding the Arkansas hills & curves and they felt very planted so no problems with the curves just the straight & level hunting/seking/wondering. I spoke to another Buell rider that has a lot of Shinko Raven 009 experience and he said that he has the same wondering feel on his bikes, but will put up with the wonderbike feel because the price is right. |

I wonder if it is the combination of the XB geometry and the split center lugs. |

It looks like my front Raven 009 is bad. I had my Yamaha dealer spin the tire on the blancer and it was all over the place. I get a bad bar shake at 40 mph if I take my hands off the bars. I am going to keep the tire on but it will be the last 009 front I will ever buy. |

I had a shaky front Roadsmart, read it here that the weights need to be on the rotor side. Switched my weights over, fixed it. |

The weights are on the disk side. You can see a hump or bump when the wheel is spinning on the balancer. |

Gotcha. I had a Sync like that, bead looked good but a little out of round. Happens. |

3,127 miles and I am down into the wear bars. Not happy with the feel of these tires and really not happy with the wear factor. I got twice the milage with the $69.00 Tomahawk retreads |

Put my Shinko's on a few weeks back, then it snowed again......... I have a couple hundred miles on so far. I have the same comments as Buellhusker. It seems planted well but really wanders around..... not serious lane changing, but the ass-o-meter can tell it feels different. What are you guys running for tire pressure? We'll see what the wear is throughout the summer and make a final decision at that time. |
