Too bad LittleOne, bet my cat would love to get his paws on that mouse! A ride down the Oregon Coast sounds great, hope the weather and/or fog cooperates with you! We'll let you know if we'll be in Whistler for Sunday night - do a post later in the week. Personally I think we should bale and stay in Whistler. I've got relatives in the OK Falls area (just on other side of the lakeside we'd be staying at) and they've been evac'd. Also a guy Don works with has a sister in Penticton and they were evac'd a couple of days ago. Sure the fire may be on the hillside, but roads could be closed and fire is very unpredictable. Some areas even have fuel shortages, so getting gas could be an issue. I say why push it? I'd rather enjoy the weekend riding - although the weather today is very crappy. Hope that's just to douse out those fires! Ride on, Lo |

**BORDER RAID UPDATE** Okay everyone, I've done the appropriate "running around" to find out up-to-date information on the wild fires threatening our ride. The road and areas we'll be travelling should be fine (Although there's a fire between Lillooet and Ashcroft). We'll have to see what happens and determine as we go... I guess. The hotel in Penticton says there is sometimes a little smoke in the valley but nothing too bad. I still have a concern about those heading south over the border on Monday. There's a big fire in Vaseux Lake area which is between you and Osoyoos. Just something to keep in mind. Stu, Don and I, Harv, Jim and Eric are all continuing with original plan. We'll be spending Sunday night in Penticton. So RAY? Wanna reschedule your Sunday night hotel again?! If you do, here's where we're staying: The Best Western Inn 3180 Skaha Lake Road 1-800-528-1234 Hoping to ride on soon... Lo |

Nope! I'm a genuine Y2K kind of guy. Not only am I warm, sensitive and caring, but I'm not afraid to make a commitment. I’ve committed myself to two nights at Whistler and I’m stickin’ with it. Thanks for the kind offer though. I’m REALLY looking forward to this weekend! Ray |

I'm too busy working to keep up with the goings-on. Are Brent and Cindy still coming? Lo. You and Don have a room to share with them. Stu. You and John have a room to share. If John's out, Stu and I can share a room. Otherwise, I'll get a cot with Jim and Harve. If Brent and Cindy, and John, are out, Stu could room with Don and Lo, in which case we'd only need two rooms. I'm putting in thirteen hour days and don't have time to check our room needs and we've got reservations for three rooms all together and they're on my VISA card. Is this working out right? Do I hear right that Bob, Deb, and Galen are in? Do they have reservations? Lorraine, if you talked to the people at the hotel about the fire hazard, I presume they would have said if we had gotten bumped by refugees? I'll hope to talk to Stu tomorrow, but I may be sent to Victoria for the day. |

Taylor's checking in to let you all know that we made it home just fine. This year was different for us since we did not make the whole trip but it is one we will always remember! Thanks Stu and Kim for the wonderful lunch. And thanks to all our canadian friends who welcome us to travel some of the best roads with them. You all are the best (that includes the americans too!). Now time to go unpack, and maybe wash away a few canadian bugs! Loni |

So, Eric..... How was the second half of Sunday's ride? Did you have a terrible time dealing with the smoke, fire, emergency equipment, poor lodging, heavy traffic, and poor roads? Do you wish you would have stayed a second night in Whistler? Quit lying, sucker! As for me......... I had a nice ride back to Whistler. Not as fast as the way up, but nobody dropped me either. A nice quiet evening with a nice quiet dinner in the room with two beers (I left four for for the maid. Thank you VERY much!) I had a good night's sleep, then a pleasant but boring ride home. The ride home made me appreciate Canadian roads all the more. I'm home safely in Tacoma, and I'm already saving my money for next year. I had a great time and am looking forward to doing this again. If I save enough money I might just make a reservation for Sunday night at Whistler AND Pentictin. How cool would that be! Glad to see you all (ya'll) again. Hi Loni Ray |

Great ride gang! Made it home safe and sound with rear wheel intact... and might I add "WHEW!" Thanks for all the assistance Stu. Glad you were there to ensure everything worked out well. Let me know what Buell says about the breach in the axel. Well, time to recoup, recover and get back to reality. Thanks for the great time everyone! Ride on, Lo |

Thanks you guys, it was a great trip!! Glad you had a good trip too Littleone. Yep, the 101 is the ONLY way to go, n'est pas? How's that pro series intake holding up? Keep a good eye on it okay? Without having a support bracket, it's highly possible for the carb to fall off. Yep, I've actually heard it happening. Just something to watch out for when you're inspecting the bike before riding. Ride on, Lo |

Hey lo It has been great, my stock box vibrated alot more than this one. i think if you set the pro series up to the specs then yes you get a lot of vibration and your carbs would decide to commit suicide but we put it on a little diffrent then what it tell you to. There isn't a lot of vibration on it, the way we have it set up. The pro series is great i got better milage out of the bike and it seemed just to run better. I can top out at about 150Km/h now rather than the 140km/h i was doing before. Also in the heat of the I-5 when in the states it was wonderful my leg weren't burning up like they used to. Also when the wind hit us, with the opening now i didn't bashed around as much. Not to mention that the pro series just looks cool... I'll keep ya updated on lil' Gizmo

Thanks for the invite, Galen. But probably too far to go in non-biking season. (My insurance expires on Sept 30th.) BTW, I liked your signature line on Sacborg; "A dull boy at home, Galen visits Earth!" LOL! On the subject of pre-trip inspections: after moaning all season about the Sporty being on its last legs, I just discovered another ten horsepower or more. My throttle cables weren't adjusted properly and I had almost 1/4" between the stop and the throttle pivot thingie. So WFO was actually about 3/4 throttle. Damn. Can we do that BorderRaid thing again now that I have full warp capability? I should fire my mechanic! |

Fire the mechanic or flog the mechanic? Your choice. Flogging the mechanic might keep you from getting Colin cancer, but hey, what do I know. |
