Kudos to Buell for having the web site locked and loaded. Good things indeed. Hell I think it's great that Buell went with a stroked version. Seems that it paves the way for a touring variation (everyone click the ruby red slippers) I like the black/gold combo and I'm warming up to the new red. I wish the Blast would have got a new twist. Something radical like the Ozzy Pepsi commercial. I wonder if Nallin Racing had a heads up with this seeing they went towards bore.... I'm glad it all goes together so well...almost like it was planned out. Just a random thought. DAve |

I think there a lot of people that have to get of their @$$ and buy a Buell. I should have made a list of all the people that said "I'd buy one if they had more power." Now, how many of the new go fast goodies will fit one my OLD bike!!! If the XB9Rs looked like that when I bought my S, I mighta gone home with an R. Love that black and gold. |

Mike J, Sorry no crates. If there are any out there they will still be at roadway with a sign saying when to deliver. But none as of yet. |

I would like to know why they didn't go for the 7500 rpm peak with a bigger cam, the 9's rev that high so the valvetrain can take it. That could be 110 horse, maybe more. Either way, I like it. MZ |

Has anybody noticed that they changed the primary drive ratio on the XB12? XB12- 1.500:1 (57/38) XB9- 1.676:1 (57/34) |

Aaron, Good point, especially now that the warranty is for a longer period. At least we know that the factory parts are capable of it. MZ |

It seems to me it would effect it just like a sprocket change, and the 12 has the torque to pull the taller gearing. More top end? MZ |

So I just got into work tonight and started reading all this... Sucks to be a XB9 owner. The improvements are great and the XB12 looks to be everything people were asking for. Being a Tuber guy I am still happy with my M2. Since 75% of my riding is two-up I can't see trading in my bike for the new XB12. I deffinately will test drive on during the 100th..... |

No Koz, it does not suck to be an XB9 owner. Its a wonderful machine all by itself with or without the XB12. The motor is a real smoothie. Not all of us are speed gonzos. But I'm glad the XB12 is out, finally. Maybe it will "put up or shut up" the tubers who still whine about the demise of their (often) unreliable steeds. |

I am not saying the XB9 is a bad bike. I am just saying that you get a lot more this year. Even if you still bought the XB9 you get more warranty and less cost... |

$10,995 for an extra year warranty and a "little" extra grunt? $1800 premium over the XB9R? Must be a size matters thing! 9R seems like the bargain especially compared to the $9,995 I paid for the first one a year ago. Come next spring, there will be another 9R in my garage. (yes, I curse the day I sold it) |

But how long do you think that it will stay at $10,995. Right now you can pick up a '03 XB9 for $7000 and that is only one year after the model was introduced. By this winter you will be able to get a XB12 for under $10,000 and the XB9 will probably be right around $7500. I test drove the XB9s last year and I thought it was cute. I still think the bike is to small, but that's why I bought my M2 at the end of last year. |

I know it's ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6704&item=2423 767529 But it is a XB9s low with no reserve starting at $6995 (only 2 days left on the auction, no bids) Thing is if you call that dealer, I am sure they would take $7000 cash for the bike right now. How short do you have to be to ride a XB9s low??? |

Just read this on the Sport Rider website. The article explains how the Interactive exhaust works along with some other good info. http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/2004/146_04_buell_xb12r/ |

To quote Aaron: This bike is going to be an absolute hoot to ride, you watch. I am thrilled with what Buell has done. They continue to represent THE leading edge of technology in sportbiking. The power of the XB, in concert with it chassis, renders moot the "but ______(insert whine here)", and the warranty raises the bar in the industry. I suspect that in the coming days and months we will learn more of the "Buell-Berg", that most of what is new, innovative and adds value is out of sight and concerns systems that insure quality, reliability and generally a satisfying ownership experience. I am truly excited about the things the good folks at Buell have done. Court |

When does the race kit become available? As we in Australia are going to need it,I do not want to be shafted like last time,or does this new exhaust pass our noise laws?Enquiring minds need to know. Can I have mine in BLACK?Counting the days till I get a phone call from the importer informing me that the Bike I wanted is now available.Where I live twisties are few and far between.Power Rules. |

"Sucks to be a XB9 owner." Spoken like somebody who doesn't own one. Getting irate over Buell producing a 12 when we just bought 9s a year ago is like me being mad that I got a '02 Ram and they introduced the Hemis in '03. In every industry worldwide, advancements are made every year. You cannot purchase anything without the expectation that something better will come along soon. If you have that kind of mentality, you'd never own anything for fear that it would be superceded the next year! -=grins=- I love my 'underpowered, ill-handling', perfect little XB9R Firebolt. edited by darthane on July 15, 2003 |

"Sucks to be a XB9 owner." Seeing as I am taking a beating for that comment, I will try to elaborate. 2003 XB9 comes with one year warranty, cost was $9995. 2004 XB9 comes with two year warranty, improved final drive belt, and cost is $9,195 (which is only suggested, not laid in stone). It just seems like a much better package this year, not to mention you have the option to go big on power that was not available last year. DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY IF YOU OWN A 2003 XB9!!! It's just an observation. Personally I will miss the white color, I thought it looked great |

DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY IF YOU OWN A 2003 XB9!!! I don't, and, I bought mine for just under $9000 OTD in April. I was also offered 1% less interest if I got an extended warranty. So, I got a year added on, and a killer rate on my loan. So I think I came out ok. |
