Currently as Gunter emailed me its available for download. but I am not seeing the link on the downloads page. This is on Gunters end. I have a email out to him addressing this issue for everyone. He may have uploaded it but forgot to release it from hidden files or the database to the open section of his files. I am sure he will fix it soon. He does have a newer ecmspy website, maybe its on that one which I lost link to it. I am sure he will fix it soon. I have a temporary link here i loaded a while back. Use this till he fixes the link on the page Or I need to remove it. This is one of Gunters toys, he calls my shots on this one. copied from 1125 post. answer to this post( All ddfi ecms) any year "any" ecm. http://www.ecmspy.com/download.shtml (Message edited by blake on March 23, 2010) |

ECMread is there now and I'm downloading the 70+ MB Mono runtime. Is this the same as ECMspy where it will do real time data logging or will it just allow you to read and write to the eeprom? |

This is the read and write from every ecm a buell uses. Use it with Tunerpro to have every data you need to have full control of the ecm. The full blown Mono that is like ecmspy on steroids is still adding data to it i was told. It should be next. This tool allows you to do everything just not as fast. No spread sheets to buy or anything. see ecmspy.com userguide page for mono. the tool instructions are there on how it works and what it does. no more buying a flash program for all 2008 plus bike use this free ecmread from ecmspy. The original ecmspy!!!! |

The mono VM runs under Solaris, going to have to give that a try. |

You might be forced to use real serial ports only with solaris. Although there's a ftdi driver available (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2254/usbftdi- 7d?a=view) I'm not sure, if the mono runtime will indicate cua devices as valid serial interfaces. |

Update: A few datas are being relocated in the ddfi3 xdf files.(not sure which ones at the moment) You will want to always get the latest xdf files for your ecm. I am pretty sure a list will be provided soon as to everything is 100%. currently a few cell locations are being adjusted. Gunter may post here himself about addressing this or may just fix the locations and reload to his server. Anyone that loaded these from my website if you update from my website its the same file instantly from his upload. I embedded his upload link, this way you get current data at all times. Don't shoot the messenger please!! |

For solaris I was going to try a Bluetooth device. Open Solaris says it supports BT and it does list a driver for my BT device in my laptop but I haven't tried to pair it with anything yet. If not Windows should work. |

Update> Gunter gave me a lead on a new way to get files in and out. experminted with it and came up with this. for public use only (((ecmread!))) tools needed rs232/ttl cable same as old ecmspy cable. a few suppliers have these. shop around for price. 1999 to 2010 bikes Downloads Needed 1. Tunerpro basic 2. Ecmread 3. Mono runtime 4. Fetched data from bike 5. Matching XDF file to ecm Firmware Now the easy part done this way. No converting needed according to Gunter on xpr to bin. * Open Tunerpro * load your xdf file * go to the file on the top click it. * Click open bin * go to the lower screen on the right click the file type drop down arrow. select all file types. * now go to your eeprom folder in the Ecmread program select the xpr file you like(want to load to tunerpro). It now opens in Tunerpro as a xpr file. * make your changes as you wish and save. (rename it with new (name.xpr) it will save correctly even though it says save as bin) * save in the eeprom folder in Ecmread. Now to Burn 1. click burn 2. navigate to the folder or location you just placed this new file from Tunerpro in. 3. read and check it a few times. 4. highlight it to select new file 5. Make sure you selected correct file.(read write does not care of firmware type) wrong firmware and you get issues) 6. select file now lower right of screen. 7. its now burning to the bike. Done! pretty simple that way huh? A fancy ecmspy!!! whoot whoot ok I added data and stretched his one sentence out a lot. With this all other systems are inadequate and lacking much detail needed to fully tune correctly Besides the EBR tuner from IDS. SEE the EULA rules and Regulations for ecmread, copy his work including definitions layout and ect without permission, and or break the rules loose the ecmread . Plain and simple. maybe a stupid question but this new release is made for the newer ECM like the 1125 right? can read also the old one but ecmspy still does his job with the old ecm or is better to use this new release? |

everyone ok on the how to use and get files from place to place? i edited a earlier post to help clarify things. hope it helps. This ecmread is for any buell ecm no matter the year. I can write a quick tunerpro how to if needed. NO!!! I don't do any tuning services!!!! Illegal and against EULA Regulations for Commercial and/or profit in Ecmread. We don't want the plug pulled twice do we? mike (Message edited by xoptimizedrsx on March 24, 2010) |

No we do not want it pulled twice. Yes a quick guide to tuner pro would be great! Thank you for your time, and thanks to Gunter (and everyone I don't know about) too. Have "they" decided if the fully interactive ecmspy replacement (unless I am looking at ECM read in the wrong way) will be available, and if it will be free or paid? I'm more than happy to pay for it, and I did express this to Gunter in an email. It was a lot of work and that work shouldn't have to come for free. |

I'm about to reflash my '08 ECM using ECMRead and I'm scared. Scared by the mention that the XDF wasn't fully sussed out: "A few datas are being relocated in the ddfi3 xdf files.(not sure which ones at the moment)" Am I safe if I'm using the latest XDFs on the website? Excellent work in any case, Gunter and Xopti... it is very much appreciated. |

Read it and save it first, that way if things are not right you may not be screwed! |

Of course. As a test, I was planning to disable the Active Muffler Control since I'm running a Drummer SS. Really need to get on a dyno to tune the fueling. BTW, DirectLink is USELESS. You can't adjust even 10% of the parameters you can with the ECMRead/TunerPro setup. |

So are specific maps already on the site somewhere? ie- 04 12 with race kit? |

If someone with an XB12 and an aftermarket exhaust wouldn't mind sharing their tuned maps, I would appreciate it. I have a Drummer SS and a K&N filter, that's it. I have some Buell Race ECM data, but the mapping isn't very useful. |

Thanks Dave, think I'm doing something wrong! Got the bike and the computer linked, made back ups, TPS AND AFV reset, went to load the XB12 race map and the computer couldn't find it. WTF so I closed the program, looked in the folder and it is there, tried it again and this time the bike and computer won't link. |

Anyone have a drummer map laying around? I'd make one and share but I have some porting, boring, pistons, valves... I'd just like a little better place to start than the stock map. thanks in advance. |

Can anybody tell me if ECMread or any of the required software is harmful to a computer?? My pc went down last year but I have a work laptop. This software doesn't need a dedicated computer right?? Mono just sounds bad for a work computer. All jokes aside, should I be worried?? Thanks very much |

The Mono runtime library is a little bit fat, but ecmspy seems to be fine. I have both on my personal laptop and no problems. If you are really concerned, find an "old" Acer Asprire One for around $200 used and install everything on there. Step up to $400 or a little more and get a Fujitsu u810. I can't seem to figure out Tuner Pro. Everytime I try to open up the xpf file and xdr file it always comes up jumbled in TP. Also can Mono do TPS resets and data logging? I'm familiar with ecmspy and using megalog just wondering if Mono has the same capabilities. |

Thanks a lot greg. I'll read the steps posted above until I nearly have them memorized since this is my 1st stab at ecmread. Does anyone know of a youtube video or other tutorial on this software?? Is ecmspy so similar that I can study up on that for help with ecmread?? Thanks again |

ECMspy is a real time tool, ECMread is exactly that, it reads and writes so it seems data logging is not possible. I've been so busy doing other things to my machine that I haven't really done anything with ECMread or followed up with ECMspy, that and we still have that junk 10% ethanol fuel here. No sense in doing a bunch of work only to have it change in a few weeks to "real" gas. Please keep in mind that Mono is the software interpreter along the lines of Microsoft .Net. It is not the actually application just the layer to interface down to the operating system. The reason it was chosen was most likely the interoperability with several different operating systems. Think of it like Java where it works on anything that has Java installed. I'm kind of torn about this choice because it could require more hefty hardware, but I'm not writing the software and I'm not paying for anything (yet) so I don't really have a voice in any of the dev work. I do hope they bring out a fully real time tuner tool with data logging to replace ECMspy, even if it costs money, I'd drop $50 without thinking about it (possibly more). |

I installed Tunerpro, Ecmread, and Mono and I can't seem to get Ecmread to open because i get an error box saying "This application has failed to start because mono.dll was not found." Any suggestions?? I'm trying to follow Xopti's directions above, i just can't get the system open to fetch the data from the bike.... thanks for any help |
