How do these mount? Iv seen others that are solid and just screw onto a long piece of "thread all" that goes through. But these have a counter bore in the middle as if there is a bolt that goes through the slider.

They mount on a piece of all thread that goes through the axle. There is a lock nut on either end and yes, they are bolted through the sliders.

I wasn't able to budge them or do any damage when I hit them with a hammer.

if they put the extra effort into their sliders they would be clean looking, not showing bolts and stuff.

DHM has several types of sliders available depending on your preference.

The "Stealth" series shows no fasteners.

Actually think they look pretty good on the bike. I mean, they are cover up even bigger bolts, right?

Kevin is apparently eager to criticize. A bit too eager.

The "Eco" stands for "economy", one of four or five different configurations of sliders that DHM offer. DHM has some of the best looking axle sliders I've ever seen. Their "Composite" models are pure artwork. Got 'em on my Uly. : )

If exposed fasteners are undesirable, good grief, don't look at anything on your motorcycle. LOL.

I've always thought that exposed hardware along with exposed structure if done nicely is cool looking.
