I took my first ride of the year yesterday and noticed the clutch fluid leak at the puck. The bike is a 2009 CR manufactured in September 2008 with about 900 miles on it. I have read some of the MANY threads about clutch fluid leaks here but have not seen any mention of what nasty corrosive stuff brake fluid is. Has anyone noticed the leaked fluid causing any damage to their underside bits? I plan to give my dealer a call about it to see what they have to say about the repair and parts availability. I would think at this time of year parts may be especially scarce due to all the folk like me just getting their scoots out for the first rides of the year. So, to sum up, the fix appears to be new puck, puck seal, piston, piston seals and sleeve? All this reminds me of the old joke about the penguin who blew a seal! |

I've got an appt to bring my bike in next Thursday. We will see how it goes, hopefully it will be in and out. Can't bear the thought of riding my FZ1 instead for too long! |
