Btw, in case anyone missed it, I dropped the prices on everything except for the polishing service. Both current pipes are $50 cheaper, the collector setup is $20 off. I got a $25 price break on parts, I figure I'll eat the labor for the additional sales. (Message edited by d_adams on February 28, 2010) |

here's one that Albert666 in the UK is doing (and this ones mine )going onto my fully faired bike so he has left the outlet long so i can trim to the right length after install http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p223/wkd1_photo s/bike%20stuff/?action=view¤t=newexhaust.jpg i was going to wait for him to post but was bored so.... Front exit ... interesting ... kind of like that exhaust for the XB's (can't remember who made it). I'm sure it'll look great poking out of a full fairing. I'm excited for developments on the round can (by developments I mean more vids lol). Shoudn't be a problem since, judging by your YouTube account, you LOVE posting vids of your pipes. It's a good thing. One question that arose while looking at the pics: for the tilted up oval can and round can, how is the clearance of the swingarm/brake line at full droop? I'm guessing since the stock exhaust basically blows right on it that the brake line can take some heat. On a side note (as long as we're talking about custom pipes), a guy on BB had this made for him (jury is still out for me):
Kind of interested to see how that sounds (though it's out of the question for me since I'll have a pillion rider and/or bags sometimes).

That exhaust is cool .But no rider hangers?Maybe he can make a spacer bracket to extend the out a little to clear the pipe.I thought about doing this and putting a flat in the pipe on the swingarm to tighten the clearance. On the flip side having a exhaust exit up front will mean you will be huffing gas fumes.Thats not for me.But add that all up and hell it would make it even funner to ride.lol |

I bet it sounds amazing and I'd assume that long pipe would maximize torque. The front outlet is intriguing. Sure outsmarted me...I would never had though t do that.

I think he said the fab guy left the tip long so he can trim it to fit his full fairing or something. I think lol. I let my GF listen to the different pipes you made D and she liked "the loud one" lol. She wondered why you didn't "make it rev" though. I said be patient lol |

The last one I just did isn't even fully welded yet. It's just tacked together and it wasn't clamped, so it started rolling down from the vibration. It was also getting late, so I didn't want to make too much noise and get the neighbors all wound up. The way things are going now, I won't get to finish it until this weekend if I get lucky. Too much to do, so little time. I'm just glad I like doing this kinda stuff. I'm just hoping I get my leathers back by Friday, I want to ride! Weather is supposed to be in the low 50's by the weekend. Tell her I'll do a video just for her to hear, but I can't do it until the weekend. |

The front exit pipe tip will be trimmed so that it finishes just proud of the body work.. I had a similar pipe fitted to an xb and had no issues with fumes on that, so I don’t expect any on this one. free sprits raced one similar last season but couldn’t get it anything like street legal noise wise so they wouldn't produce it for sale, hence the request for Albert666 from the UK to make me one. I’m posted overseas at the moment and won’t be home for another 4-5 weeks as soon as I am it will be on and I’ll let you know what it sounds like and 'if' the fumes are an issue. Re the high rear twin exit pipe I like the rear view, but would hate to lay it down and see the damage that would do to the swing arm... also goes against everything that Buells is about, 'mass centralisation?' etc... BUT this is what makes us Buell owners unique, we're prepared to make them our own so if it’s yours and that’s what you want so be it lol.... Wkd1 |

Wkd14u2 -- Do you have any other shots of the exhaust? It looks different, just curious on how it was done. 2 into 1, straight pipe back, tight bend U and then a 3" round can? Or is that an oval muffler with the inlet/outlet only in the front? Kinda hard to tell from that pic, it's too small. If sizing is an issue, shoot me the original, I'll resize it and post it. Interesting. Very interesting design. Color me impressed, it looks pretty good. Not something I would have tried, but very nicely executed indeed. Sorry these didn't scale quite right, they were kinda small to work with. I did the best I could with them though.

Dyno run scheduled for the RT Type 3 exhaust on Friday of next week, provided I get it all finished this weekend. I need about 6 more hours in each day. |
