For those of you who are interested, these are for sale now. www.keda-design.com I build each one as they get ordered, so there is a slight delay from when you order to when it ships. I'm also looking into an option for polishing the exhaust, as of right now, they are in "raw" form. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
D adams, have you thought about drilling the lower brake mounting point? That would lower and move the stand/slider to about where the 2009's have there's. The only problem I see is on the left/belt side. Not much room, but maybe supporting it somehow. Just a thought.
Mrrickbo -- I actually have another version in the works for a stand. I have to load test it to verify that nothing will break, ie; the swingarm mount point, but it will be a smaller lift spool and is not designed for crash protection. I'm also working on some replacement stock spools for the '09 and '10 model years.
Mrbuell -- I have a 2nd style muffler that I'll be building next week. Two chambers, louvered cores, dual outlets. I'll post pics and video as it gets done. It should be a bit quieter than the first one.
Put in an order, I'll build it how you want it. I hope to start stocking more material to build out one or two pipes ahead of time, but with different tip options and internal configurations, it's tough to keep all of the parts I need on hand. I have more on it's way, but it usually takes about 4-5 days for it to show up.
D adams- thanks for the info, I'm looking at get a set from ya. Looked at your website. If your pipes turn out anything like the HPE pipe that I have then you really got something! Good Work!

Pics tonight of the dual outlet. Most of it is done, didn't get a chance to cut the 2" 45 degree pipes though. I will be running out of argon sometime tonight though, I may not get to finish it until tomorrow morning.
I'm still about a week away from having the "go" to order something, so I am enjoying seeing what you're coming up with, Dean. I will say that I do like the looks of your original single big outlet better than the two smaller outlets.
Just got back, dyno #s are the same, 123 hp. I think it might be just a smidgen louder in the midrange. Not sure why though. It seems to resonate a little bit more than the single pipe 2 chamber one I built first. It's definitely an attention getter, I had a few cagers rethink trying to run me over today. Got a few looks today also. It's too freakin cold for me to keep this up. No more testing until spring. All the dyno charts match, even the slight dip in torque at 8k or so. I'm starting to wonder if the K&N has something to do with it, since it does the exact same thing with the stock can.
Dave, whenever you're ready, just say the word. I'm getting a small collection of bits and pieces that I need for each pipe.
Mrbuell, I'm not following what you want. Care to elaborate just a bit for me? I'll try to build pretty much anything you want, even a drawing would help.
Hah, this one turned out ok for sound. Maybe 50 feet back or so. Very smooth delivery from 2000 rpm, 2500 and 3000. No chugging or stuttering. I got a little bit too close on the last pass, but you get the idea. It's loud, but sounds pretty good, makes good power without tuning. I'm sure with either a race ecm from EBR or manually tuning it, it would run even better.
Hey Dean, why not something like this (look below) so that way you wouldnt have make a merge, why not run the headers into the muffler and inside the muffler have an internal X pipe..also if u really had some time and were bored you could build an X collector that fed the X muffler lol....just an idea to think about in your free time.. Im not sure what size piping you'd use, but probably 2-2.25in. in the muffler and outlets...forgive the crudeness of the "drawing" lol...
Your first pipe is a single straight through design, The 2nd pipe is dual chamber dual outlet??? can you build a dual chamber single outlet without the louvered pipe?? I really like the sound of your first pipe just wanted something a little and not much quieter. I am starting to think I may go with your first design.
Someone had posted a concern about clearance issues. Here's 2 with a pack of smokes under it for reference. The wheel is less than 1/2" off the ground using a pitbull stand. These are the first one I made and it never did get cleaned or polished yet.
Ok, on to the next version or option. Dual 2" outlets, same can, same collector, slight change in angle to run it straight back so they split the wheel better. There's about 1/2" of clearance at the wheel to the pipe.
Dual louvered internals. Stainless steel wool for packing.
Finally mounted on the bike.
A closeup of the end of the can.
Yep, it's got a serial number.
Final pic, it's finished and cooling off for packing to ship it out.

Thanks again
The first one was a 2 chamber, single outlet design. The 2nd one is 2 chambers, 2 outlets but with smaller tubing. If you wanted a straight through one with only one chamber, I could do that also, but both of these are 2 chambers. I could do a 3.5" round can also, but the first one is probably the quietest, but only by a slight margin. I don't have any way to test for how loud it is, but both will get your attention when they're running.
Adams: sick looking pipe man! Really dig the deep sound and I'm sure it frees up a couple horsies once the Race ECM is put on.
Am I the only one that REALLY wants to see the muffle angled upwards so the amount of bracket hanging down isn't so much? Maybe for serial #0003 shorten the muffler housing about 3-4" and angle the muffler up towards the swingarm.
Other than that, I sincerely admire your worksmanship and craft ... I can weld but not thin pipe just yet. I always burn through or can't get my speed/heat right. Major kudos for doing this yourself, though.
I build them all custom, one at a time. If you want it built, shoot me a pm. I had a reason for buying a Miller tig welder a while back. This is it. I do this in my spare time for more fun than anything else. If you want it tilted more, I can do it. All it takes is time and $$.
I agree with jeepinbueller's assessment of bringing the muffler closer to the bike this would eliminate the air gap at the rear. Albert666 has a really nice and snugtfit, similar to his.
I am very excited to see the dual in/out with a pump gas EBR ECM.
Eventually, sure, I'll build one. The question for that is, is it 2 single cans or the crossover in the oval can? There's a limit on how high you can tuck it when you do 2 outlets. The belt is the big issue.
I'm not made of $$, but I plan on doing something for tuning this spring. Would I like to try the EBR ecm? Hell yeah, the tuneable one even. Will I get it, probably not. If I go that route, it will be the $250 for now. I have to run all this by the purchasing department here at home, just like most of you guys. I'm not saying I'm whipped, but that welder I got took a LOT of sweet talkin.
A dual outlet setup can be achieved with this size case. Who says it has to exit on the backside of case why not exit underneath dual outlets.Put a baffle inside and blow two holes in the case underneath. Just a thought . Most companys if the have the tooling can take a 90 degree bend and crush the straight to get the louvered perf tube and the turndown. There ya go a perf tube With turndown outlets underneath the bike just angle them they way you desire. The exits don't have to be on the back of the case.If you go this route you can tuck the larger case closer to the frame and exits can be below the case. More work is envolved but then again hitting a bunny won't cause you to crash.Nice work Adams you just need more clearance for the little bunnys.
Think outside the box

Tell you what, I'll put the stock can back on and see where that cig pack sits under it. However, there is NO clearance issue with this pipe, any more than there is with a Drummer or the Buell factory race pipe. I've only heard of one instance where a Drummer whacked the ground and it was a large speed bump I think. Sure, it can be tucked up higher, I have simply opted to put it where it is by choice. Personally, I think it looks good where it is, but I'll move it around if someone wants it different.
Scarab_run - I'm not that talented, just patient, most of the time. I appreciate the offer, but I've got a pretty decent gig going up here at the moment. Union job, good benefits, etc. Thanks for the compliment, it's nice to hear them occasionally. I just try to make a few people happy every week or two.
Jeff - Yup, pretty close. It does sound better in person, simply because you can feel it running. I'd put it up there with the 6.0 liter one with the 3" duals. Both versions I've made have the same type of feel to them.
