This procedure is covered in the owners manual (at least in my '06), available on this website (see top of this forum). No need to guess, or buy a Service Manual for this item. |

Froggy, put a rod through the axel and jack up both ends of the rod. |

14 months later, does anyone know if a viable aftermarket auto-tensioner was ever developed or adapted, as mentioned in the thread? |

All fluids changed, primary chain adjusted, front isolator good to go, and still a worrisome vibration in the handlebars and footpegs mostly when pulling in the clutch and the engine settling. I think from this point I'll just call it normal. Thanks for the advice everyone! |

Workinman, meet up with a local Bueller, have him take it for a quick spin, that way someone that has some miles and knows how the bike should act can give an opinion. |

Jake, adjusting the chain is very simple(or so i would think) I have been seeing problems on big twins with the auto tensioners that i would surly want to do it myself |

Thanks Bob. For as easy as I found it to be, I can see where doing it is a nice peace of mind whereas the tensioner could give me a false sense of "its ok" because its out of sight, out of mind and auto-tensioned, one would hope... |
