I've noticed a few articles popping up. It seems HDI is working hard on what to do with the York plant, as well as closing down the test facility mentioned elsewhere. I guess Wandell and co. are really getting into "restructuring" now. A few articles about the York plant: Harley Davidson: Kentucky or York Harley drops Murfreesboro from new plant site plans At the same time H-D's PR machine is gearing up to increase positive exposure: Harley-Davidson Motor Company Gears Up With Davie Brown Entertainment Harley Davidson Announces Plans For Women Riders Month 2010 and maybe this could be how H-D plans to attract under 35's to the brand... Marisa Millers sexy homage to the armed forces Like a few have suggested on BadWeb, My guess is HDI will post a lot of one-off costs this quarter with not particularly good numbers, probably worse than the 3rd quarter, in an effort to set themselves up for a profitable 2010. Maybe we'll see a lot of product placement and special "months" to divert attention from the numbers, the restructuring, and disappearance of Buell and MV. Or maybe I'm being cynical... cheers, chili |

"legendary lifestyle brand, Harley-Davidson Motor Company" -- that pretty much sums it up for me. Buell is a motorcycle, and Harley is a lifestyle brand. I've got news for you Harley... there isn't a trademark associated with my lifestyle. (Message edited by Toecutter on November 06, 2009) |
