Sorry, Homecoming is, well, Homecoming. Coming home to the bike's birthplace. Having it somewhere else just wouldn't be the same. I'll setup a small poll on our club's website, and post a link to it here on all the different ideas and such. |

Does Roma's have the capacity to have all of us there God yes .. his banquet hall is 4 times as big as his restaurant area .. I already hit him up about it on Monday when I was picking up the pies .. The other cool thing about using Roma's is that it is the very same banquet room Erik and the elves have used on many occasions ... Mark was telling me they've had bikes in there for some of their meetings. (Message edited by tattoodnscrewd on October 28, 2009) |

Rocco, why not the dragway? Don't you enjoy seeing the Buell's smoke the Harleys? We could even get Erik's band to play and there would be plenty of room for it also. But I agree with the part of the factory tour always being the best part of homecoming. I'm sure going to miss that part. |

We will sooo be there if it is at all possible. I'm not sure, but I think Chili is correct, the first weekend in June looked like our best bet for getting flights etc. |

What works better for Hals? Friday night, Saturday night? Saturday afternoon? Works well as a just got into town gathering place. A map pack might be nice. Just a simplified photocopied generalized main points and major turns type of map. If there was a gathering place in E.T. where a tent could be set up might be nice, but then there would have to be someone designated to be there to point and direct incommers where to go and when. Plus or minus on this one. Track days are or were usually scheduled for weekdays, read past comments from folks as a rule of thumb on this one. Great Lakes Dragway? I haven't been to a dragstrip in over 30 years, don't have a drag bike or car so go if you want to. Fun for some, others can go find some corners. If there is a dragstrip day it would be nice if there was a way to freely come and go, be it wristbands or blue armbands for "registered" attendees. Blue Buell Pegasus armbands that don't blow off in the wind and would fit over a jacket sleeve might be nice instead of wristbands. H-D Legal might be a little proactively protective with use of the Buell brandname by next year. Keep family and kids in mind for those riders who want to bring the family along. Just poking my head into the kitchen to toss out a few thoughts and freshen up my soda. And just one last idea, how about some laser cut keyfobs? Should be able to get a decent price if we contract for 300-500 of them cut out of 1/8" aluminum sheet or something. Die stamped stainless steel ribbon might be too costly. Okay, that's all I've got. |

Okay, I did a tiny 'lil survey on our Club's website. Just to get what the majority want. http://www.brewcitythunderbikes.com/e107_plugins/s urvey/survey.php?1 |

Thanks. Just something I threw together with the help of a survey plugin Could an admin possibly put a sticky up at the top to the survey link? And, since I made this survey open, please only vote once. I'm counting on honesty here. I have to delete about 4 myself from trying to test it. |

If 2-300 of us would show up, fill the hotels, eat at Gus' Drive In and fill the bars it could help? Town Square group photo again. Could be pretty cool I totally vote for this |

Steve Did the survey, thanks for putting that together. While track days are great, I've done about 40 or so in the past(including some during past Homecomings), I think they are a bit risky for those of us that are traveling on our bikes to Homecoming. My ride isn't very far but i learned very early to not ride to a track day. You may not have a bike or be in any shape to ride home. No way to wear my street leathers/gear and haul my race gear on the bike anyway. Not going to wear my race suit for all the other rides and gatherings leading up to the track day. Just something to think about, doesn't matter to me since I will not be doing the track day. Probably won't be able to stay into the week anyway. I do like the ride to HD idea. Show them that they may have killed our brand but not us! Just a ride by thing, not a big protest or anything. The most fun I had at any Homecoming has been hanging out, seeing old friends and making new ones. Just hope there is plenty of time for that. |

I voted. As with Daves, I have no interest in a track day for this event although if there was one I would be happy to hang out. I would just be happy meeting more fellow buellers and going for rides. The tour of the barn sounds pretty cool though, and since I know a ride would be in the mix no matter what happens, that is what my vote. |

Might be fun to do it like the old, as in 1989 and 1990, Homecomings. Head up to Elkhart Lake, hang at Seibkens and have fun. |

I'd LOVE to do a track day at Road America. I'd, of course, trailer my track prepped bike with all my gear up. Daves is right. No way to pack stands, tire warmers, generator, EZ-Up tent, fans, food, water, tools, etc. on the bike. Maybe as a separate event, we can relive the "Inside Pass" events and rent out a track for us Buell owning track addicts. Homecoming should be about coming "home", to the area Buells came from. I don't think any homecoming would be complete without Erik. Whatever we do, we need to make sure he can attend. He's where it all started. In a way, homecoming is about honoring him, and thanking him for his gifts to us. |

I'll be in Milwaukee in May if you guys are going to pick a date please give me some travel time between events I'll be there May 20 to the 24 The HD women's event is then along with the Rider's Edge update. |

Track day, ride, hang, drag strip... You guys set the date and I'll try and be there. Any good places to camp? A campfire is a real good place to hang after the riding is done!! Nothing like grilling out, drinking a tasty beverage with your buds and not having to worry about riding anywhere!!! |

Yes it is and I really enjoyed it last year, bonus with the coffee delivery! Steve, I did the survey, as usual you are doing a great job. I think Lynn and I will camp and I really liked the campsite we were at last year (it did not have WiFi which can be a good thing). |

the best thing about next year's homecoming is that we've got the ball rolling early and lots of good ideas so over the next two to three months, we should be able to make this one of the greatest homecoming events ever! Great work everyone, keep the ideas coming! |

I figured the survey will keep our biases to a minimum, and let the group, as a whole decide what they want. I'm sure this wont be the last survey we take on the Homecoming subject. Doing the barn tour, that would be dependent on Erik, and maybe Court agreeing to giving it. So far, here is what we have for results. For some reason, the stats aren't showing for the "The event most likely to get you to come to Homecoming" But, by looking at my emails, it's far in favor of the barn tour.
When would be the best time for Homecoming 2010 | | | | Early June | 2 | 9.10% | | | | | Mid June | 6 | 27.30% | | | | | Late June | 8 | 36.40% | | | | | Early July | 0 | 0.00% | | | | | Mid July | 5 | 22.70% | | | | | Late July | 1 | 4.50% | | | | | Early August | 0 | 0.00% | | | | | Mid August | 0 | 0.00% | | | | | Late August | 0 | 0.00% | What events would you be interested in? | | | | Kettle Moraine "adventure ride" | 13 | 59.10% | | | | | Blackhawk Farms trackday | 11 | 50.00% | | | | | Seeing Erik Buell and the Thunderbolts | 14 | 63.60% | | | | | Great Lakes Drag Racing | 0 | 0.00% | | | | | Mississippi River Run | 10 | 45.50% | | | | | Tour of the original barn where the 1st bikes were built | 14 | 63.60% | |

going back to the buell barn would be cool. I bet east troy would welcome us back to spend money in their little city. Hodaka goes back to their roots every year in Oregon. REX Of course there are the new buell s2 gatherings that now happen every year. it is in texas for 2010. |

I vote for it being in East Troy, filling there hotels and bars would be great! I'm in the same boat as Daves, i dont wanna take my only bike that got me to ET on the track and god forbid something happens. Not only that, my INS company wouldn't like it to much. It may be a bit boring, but i would run down Great Lakes Dragway a few times. Seeing the "Barn" would be the highest on my list of things to do. Then the River run, then seeing The Thunderbolts. Another thing, i also thought Summerfest was pretty cool too during the 25th. I know HD will be there, but maybe they will throw the sympathy card and let Buellers in for free and let us hang out in there pavillion again.. Then again, maybe not! Whatever everyone decides im still going regardless. I just hope everything gets planned well and not as spread out as in the past! |

I still like the idea of a HOG roast. Better than having some sit down banquet style of dinner at a hall. I think we're going to need a large area to have this because it's going to be a HUGE gathering! Buell Homecoming 2010. |
