Maybe she stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :P I did just go back and find the "half-the-dealers-will-be-gone" thread, and it was in October. So it should be starting soon. We've got two months. And that thread looked remarkably like this one, so I think I'm done. ->ChelleM |

Well, yes I did buy something at that dealership- a new bike. Sadly the last owners forgot how to sell me a new bike (hint: I don't pay MSRP for nuthin"), and the new owners haven't figured out how to sell me one either. |

Buellgrrrl This is your weakest troll yet. Most people, when they practice something as much as you, get better. |

So, nobody knows how to sell you a bike at this dealership, yet, you somehow purchased one anyway. That had to be a hilarious transaction! Didn't pay MSRP? Good for you! I love it when a customer devalues the product we stand up for. Have a hot dog on them, you deserve it! |

and the new owners haven't figured out how to sell me one either Psssst. There's a file on you from the last owners. They know damn well how to sell you a bike. They are sincerely choosing NOT to. They are hoping that you will go to the BMW dealership and never come back. |

I got mine for my birthday . . . best deal yet! The good news is that the dealership (Liberty HD/Buell) treated my wife famously and made the entire transaction a wonderful one. It's fun to have a Buell with a real license plate on it!

Hey folks- by golly, I myself actually DID get to meet Buellgrrl at the recent BMW national rally- had a brief but pleasant chat while I was sitting roadside trying to sell my R65. I think she kinda, mightha, complimented my bike. Still not sure about that. First time I ever met a "troll' in person. Wasn't too traumatic- but then we weren't talking about Buells either... Who knows whom might show up in Suches in October? "2Buellgrrls, 1cup"... |

Babired, A deal at Annap? Didn't know they did such things. I've only ever heard 1 price under msrp. That was fall of 07 on an STT. You got a nice deal it sounds. |

Oddball I did as soon as I saw the tag I got the sales person and told them to put a hold on it. Then called my bank to see when they were going to close. I bought the bike by 3 pm the same afternoon. I think it was some kind of Buell sales event. I was LUCKY it is one of the best running Buells I've had! Wondering if I will bump into Buellgrrrl at the AMA conference week after next. |

First I'd never go to a Harley dealer for a free lunch. WTF? Second, I've never known a Harley dealer to come off the tagged price... very much. The exact reason I own a Vic and not a Harley. Obviously they'll never "lean". Third, sales are down almost everywhere... what's your point? |

Jb, one dealer near me is offering 10% off MSRP on 09 models, they routinely have some kind of event or sale going on. |

Froggy, That's as good of a deal as I've heard of for a Harley. My Vic listed for $18,995 and I rolled it out the door for $11,750. Funny thing is I bought the bike when I had made up my mind to buy a Harley. The Vic fit my budget better and was easy to look at and ride. I wouldn't own a Harley now but I still like them. Hell, I still like Buells but my life has been taking me places that the Vic just works better for me. JB2 |

My Vic listed for $18,995 and I rolled it out the door for $11,750. There is a reason for the discount. Ever seen the trade in values? They drop like a rock. That new bike took a 40% plummet sitting on the floor. It's not that they aren't good bikes. They just have NO value in the secondary market. |

I missed that this was Dubuque Harley- in my old hometown. The old dealer went bankrupt back in December and was bought by one of the Wisconsin dealers (do not recall which one) in late January. No Buells because they are not a Buell dealer anymore. I think they dropped the brand shortly after purchasing the dealership. I LOVED the old Wilwerts- that's where my M2 came from. It was little more than a shack full of bikes. They had exactly what I wanted, used with 2200 miles, and at a price I could swing. I bought my Firebolt from DaveS, paid more than I could have at other dealers, but the friendship Dave and I have and all that friendship has brought me made it more than worthwhile. My next bike- who knows? I found a great deal on a candy apple red 2009 Concours, but the dealer won't let me take it for a test ride. Have to buy it first and then you have 20 miles to feel it out and return it if you don't like it. So maybe I'm headed down the road to another dealer to pay MSRP for a test ride and some friendlier service. If you don't like the price (or the hotdogs, brand of chips or lack of brats or saurkraut), move down the road and find what you're after. I feel bad for my buddies in Dubuque that bought Buells after my non-stop talk about the bikes and the multiple trips to East Troy to hang with Erik- they've got to ride 70 miles to get parts! Hey Alex- I don't know if you remember Duane from the club but he has a C14 and loves it. He's had a lot of bikes, Ducatis, VFR, ST1300 etc. so he knows what he's talking about. My only complaint would be the so-so fuel mileage (mid 30's) |

I do, and he's the one that really got me thinking of them. Hillbilly Ed has one over in KY, may have to take a trip over there to do the test ride he offered me Memorial Day weekend. I'm also looking at the Uly (or XT), which ever one Heather is most comfortable on wins. I have a feeling it's going to be the XT. Fuel economy is not great on the C14... Sorry about the thread jack, back to hotdogs... |
