Took my S3 out today -- she had been sitting for a month or two. I recently got my XR650L and my KZ900 out of mothballs and have been riding and commuting on them and the FJR. Went to start the Buell a couple of days ago and the battery was completely dead. Mind you it is the original battery from 2000 -- but I usually keep it on the tender. Used the tender for a couple of days and she fired right up today. I gotta say the Buell is more fun the the other 3 combined -- I was feeling bad -- but in that "bad to the bone" kind of way. Maybe it's just that tubers are getting rarer but she drew a little crowd everywhere I went. Just thought I'd share the feeling with those that would appreciate it and those that might be frustrated with mechanical woes .. Keep wrenching it's worth every minute.
After putting countless hours into Betty I was getting really drained and tired of such a demanding machine. (was working 12 hour shifts during the entire assembly process)
Now that she's running though every second seems worthwhile. I can't stop for gas without chatting with someone about wtf that bike is and who makes it.
I feel bad every time I'm next to a minivan at a stoplight. Makes me think of this commercial every time..
