Servicing Dealership: |
Last time I needed a dealer, I used High Country HD -- Fixed stumbling problems first try -- I will use them again if I can't figure it out myself
|
Performance Mods!: |
Race ECM - Forcewinder - Supertrapp Buell Fan Kit - Updated front exhaust hanger -
|
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): |
First summer @ 4500 miles broken exhaust stud --warranty. Might have had something to do with the 200 plus miles of dirt roads we rode -- at speed -- on a tour to N.M. Bike was basically unrideable in town when it was 90 degrees or hotter. Bad preignition and stumbling. My dealer bought and installed the fan kit at no charge to shut me up -- the following summer when it hit high temps it didn't miss a beat -- but I think it had more to do with the race ecm intake and exhaust changes I made , but I sure like the look of the fan and it sounds kinda cool-- 6500 miles rocker box gaskets. 7800 miles stumbling /plug fouling -- O2 and engine temp sensor was the fix. Bike now at 10,500 miles -- "What a long strange trip it's been"
|
Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: |
S3T saddlebags big covers -- NRHS Billet oil filter -- American Sportbike 1" bar risers -- Corbin Seat Pre 97 style (liked the look better) needed about 1500 miles to get comfy.
|
Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): |
Independence Pass from Aspen to Leadville
|
Why I do/don't ride a Buell: |
Nothing else like a tuber -- Sportbike riders hate 'em and Harley riders do too --Its nice to piss off everyone equally. I recently bought a Yamaha FJR to use for long tours -- really fast - smooth - dependable -- it's so appliance like it's almost boring -- God I love my Buell -- I guess that means my Bagger is Yamaha Powered and my Sportbike's motor is a Harley -- As Sly Stone said "different strokes for different folks"
|
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: |
They continue to improve but I like my Thunderbolt's rough edges -
|
Life History/Philosophy: |

My Buell Hero: |
Dan at NRHS-- I'm lucky to live in Colorado -- cause after all it IS Colorado -- but also because we have NRHS in the neighborhood. |
