Any golfers in the gang? Although I enjoy the walk . . . I only play about twice a year and the NYC course requires 2 day notice beforehand! Anyway . . . a friend in playing in the PGA U. S. Open (which might as well have been held in a swimming pool) and I'm having great fun teasing him about being 1 stroke of Tiger Woods at the close of today. Apparently they will not allow him to choose when to end the tournament. He's the son of two of my good friends growing up and holds (I'd have to do some digging to confirm this) like the record for the fastest drive hit and the longest drive on the PGA tour . . . . his Dad was a stud athlete in the days we were playing sports together . . . kid is a SUPER STUD. Can wait to see him play! http://www.pgatour.com/players/03/13/23/ http://3jack.blogspot.com/2009/01/gary-woodland-go lf-swing.html |

Last I was involved, I had a 4 handicap. Used to get schooled by Bob Tway regularly. Haven't played in a while, the last surgery left my left arm and hand useless with regards to Golf. I miss it. |

I play local 9-holers sporadically (read once every other year). I don't keep score, and I enjoy the hell out of it. I keep in top form (or lack thereof) by visiting the local driving range. It is amazing to watch people as good as your friend hit a ball. It is pure magic. |

I suck so bad I took myself off the bad players list and put myself onto the non-players list. Last time I played I couldn't hit my driver to save my life. I played the rest of the game with my 7 iron and my putter. |

I play as much as I can. But I must admit that since I bought the Buell, I would rather go for a ride on the bike than play golf. |

Last time I played I couldn't hit my driver to save my life. I never cared for woods. Once in the Nike Pro Am, my putter was misplaced. I have a full set of irons, so I used my 1 iron for tee shots, and for putting. |

I just read those links. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there was a small piece about this guy in Golf Digest several years back. It looks like he can bomb the heck out of it. He beats Tiger's average swing speed with a driver by almost 10 mph. That's impressive! (Message edited by boltrider on June 18, 2009) |

Just got back from playing my second round of the year. Last year I played 2 to 3 times per month. Just in case anybody is wondering; Golf isn't like riding a bicycle. If you don't play regularly you're going to fall on your face. Fortunately one of my hobbies is building and custom fitting golf clubs. So if I don't play well I can still get vicarious satisfaction when someone using the clubs I built for them does well. G |

My handicap....my swing! I enjoy the game, but I do not enjoy people who take it too serious. I go to relax. My favorite course just closed down. It had a broken down 74 chevy van marking one of the tee-boxes. I've played pristine courses, but I just loved this redneck golfcourse. Ill have to keep a watch out for your friend, it'll give me someone to cheer for! |

I own 2 clubs. A metal one that I smack a rubber duck around the neighborhood to the amusement of the kids, and a big wood that i take to the driving range. I don't like chasing the balls but do enjoy a bucket of balls now and then. I got a standing ovation one day when I tagged the ball collectors roll cage at 250. Then I sliced the next ball. |

I used to be in a league, till the kid was born. For now, I can dream about getting out once a week. Even though it is a hard game, I find it very relaxing. I've been out twice in the last year. |

I used to play under 80. If it was any hotter than that, it just wasn't worth the effort. Besides, golf makes my Tourette Syndrome flair up. |

When I was younger, I lived on a golf course, and used to see how far we could get doing a beer a hole.............................................. .................................................. ..for some odd reason, we could never finish the game. |
