what an exitign race. Eslick you had the Buell in first place in several laps. Outstanding. I am sorry your pit crew are a bunch of dead heads. For the ones that did not see the race. Eslick's buell right plastic radiator cover comes loose as he is consitantly being 1st and 2nd place. He pulls to the pit and this 2 idiots try to duct tape it. and the old guy she so clueless to what to do. they tape so bad that when Eslick touches it it comes loose again. Eslick is so pissed he takes the take and like a Hot Bull tapes his own bike becuase the 2 morons been smoking weed or something. they cost him the race. Eslick ends up in 44 th place i think by the time finishes he was up to 22 place and the funny thing is on the last lap he comes form behind and catches Higbee as Higbee gets 5th place. This guys is the Stoner of Buell. He will win a podium no doubt. Please get him a descent crew. Seriously. Please this guy i not afraid of the jap bikes. It was so awsome to see him take on the 2 yamahas. best of luck Eslick |

This guy is the Stoner of Buell. You got that right!! It was awesome seeing him blow past Bostrom in the infield and then wheelie out of the corner. Let's hope he will get the support he deserves. |

I agree, I hope he does get the support. Its amazing how much air time he gave to Buell by being on top. It cheaper then paying for commercials. Higbee did an awsome job and his strategy worked out pretty good. it would have been nice to see him get a podium but the fact he got a top 10 its a great merit. |

I knew they were in trouble when coming in... there wasn't a good way to get that pod back on, unless you tape it to the triple tree... which wouldn't have helped you after the first turn. It was an awkward spot to have to fix, and it had to stand up to 180 mph speeds. I have sympathy for the pit crew. Sure, it could have been done better, but I don't think there were good options. Wonder why somebody didn't whip out a knife from their belt and just cut the whole thing off? They would have lost some cooling from that pod, but not all. Assuming it became only 50% efficient, they would still have had 75% cooling capacity on the whole bike... I would have had him hop off the bike, I would have whipped out a knife and cut that sucker off, splashed some gas, and had him out again 15 seconds later. Then let him get back out there and hope for a yellow for the "real" pit stop. When that came, I would have already used the piece I cut off to decide where and how I am going to reattach it... and looked at the temp guage to decide if I even HAVE to reattach it. Hindsight is 20/20 though... great job by all. It sure was fun to watch. |

Problem is the radiator AND the pod were loose or it would have been much easier to just remove the fiberglass like you said. |

Not cool throwing stones at pit crew. I'd put money on most of Eslick's crew being volunteer. Also, unless you've ever had to deal with an emergency on the other side of the pit wall (from a broken bike to a fuel leak) then you've really no idea what its like. |

just want to say thanks for all the support! I wish I could have pulled off a better finish for you all!!! Congrats to shaun higbee on being at the front!I also would like everyone to no I believe in my team and my crew! It's tuff when it is the heat of the moment, and trying to repair the bike in the safest way possible. I was frustrated for sure, but I can't take it away from my guys they worked there butts off for two weeks! I would like to thank Bruce Rossmeyer for coming out to the track and supporting us!!! Danny it was a great preview of what we can expect to see this season. After all, how many non-Buell riders were dicing for the lead on a mostly stock bike? You have them running scared when the factory teams are most concerned with how a privateer is running (ie...Ben Bostrom's comments after Qualifying) keep waving the Buell flag! We're all behind you! |

Danny, you rode one a m a z i n g race! Considering that you started second from pole, pitted with a problem, went back out in 68th place and finished 13th (unofficially as per the TV), that's freakin' amazing. I don't think anybody's done anything like that. You did all Bueller's proud! (Message edited by sparky on March 07, 2009) |

Congratulations to Danny and the pit crew. I have worked on many pit crews and it is easy to sit back with 20/20 hind sight and come up with better ideas. I think this is a great start to a Buell year in racing. I'm thankful for the hard work from all the teams. |

you all have given a group of people that love their quirky, not so popular with the media or other riders, for that matter, a chance to show why we enjoy our bikes. You have also given an American manufacturer a real shot to compete at the top level of Road Racing. No small feat against "the big 4" Great job. Thanks to all the Buell racers. You all finished. That, in itself, was a victory. The places you guys finished was icing on the cake. Now, we expect a victory!! |

I've watched the first part of the race 6 times on my DVR. So cool to see (and HEAR) a Buell up front. Like Davegess said, shit happens, parts fail. NO team can prepare for every possible thing that could happen to a race bike (or car, in my personal exp). All you can do learn what happened, try to make sure it doesn't happen again and know what the plan will be if it does happen again. Great riding Danny, I know I can't wait to see you back at it at the next race, can't imagine how much you wanna get back out there. |

I just want to give a heart felt thanks and well done to Danny, Shawn, Michael, Alan, Josh, and Brian. It was just great to see so many Buells start and finish. It was super to see Shawn place so close to the podium. Danny, you scared the absolute beejesus out of them with that qualifying time. Because of you guys, anybody not riding a Buell is going to be more than a little uneasy about racing against one, or dissing anybody who does ride one. I was a little amused when the announcers didn't appear to know what a Buell was other than something to do with Harley. Hmmmm, maybe I wasn't amused after all. Anyway, you guys and your teams did great, and will continue to do so! Thanks again! |
