I've searched but can't find anybody having the same problem.I have a 06 Uly with 24000kms.I have a intermittent problem with the neutral light. When it isn't there the bike will not start. The bike is in neutral but no light. Try to start and it and it will not go!!Tried with the clutch in or out and still no go!! When the light re appears the bike starts!! Any kind of advise would be appreciated. |

It won't start even with the clutch in? There's a sensor to tell the bike when it's in neutral. The neutral light (and neutral start) won't work without it, but you should still be able to start the bike by pulling the clutch in. |

But when the green light appears it starts!! |

I may be way out in left field here but couldnt the ECM be causing these issues? When you turn your ignition on do your gauges run through their self test? (try with the engine kill switch off) Now turn the kill switch on, does your fuel pump come on? I would think if one of those things get interrupted that it wouldnt start and it would be due to an ECM issue. Again I am just guessing here but I would try that. |

That is the frustrating part. No green light, no start. Green light reappears and we have ignition. |

Well, I guess the most obvious first thing to check is the neutral sensor. Make sure the wire's firmly connected and hasn't worn through or something. I assume the bike would still start with the clutch even if the neutral sensor wasn't plugged in, but I don't know that for a fact. If you start the bike and the neutral light vanishes afterward, does the bike stay running? |

Did you drill holes in your ECM when trying to relocate your plate? http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r-forum/14462-f i-light-need-help.html |

bike should start with clutch lever pulled in, that's the connection for me to think of diodes in the start security system so a few options, 1. neutral switch is bad ( almost certen ) 2. clutch lever switch is bad ( perhaps ) 3. diode not good or wrong placed ( perhaps ) |
