There used to be a place on Buell's website where you could type in you VIN number and get recall info about the bike. Does this still exist on their website? I can not seem to find it. Is there anywhere else to get recall info on my bikes besides going to the dealer? |

Woa! "There are one or more open safety recalls or product improvement campaigns on your vehicle. The following list contains the campaign number and a brief description: Product Notice: 0501: PRD PGM: FIREBOLT HEADLIGHTS" |

Hope you dont mind me hijacking your thread, but I have a question. I just purchased my first bike, '03 XB9R w/-5800 miles. I went to the above link and found that my bike has a Recall Notice: 0825: RCL:03 BUELL XB9R SDESTND LEG and a Product Notice: 0501: PRD PGM: FIREBOLT HEADLIGHTS. Since I am the 2nd owner, can I take my bike in and have the necessary work done for free or will it be at my expense? Thanks, I'm new, so please forgive me if I am stepping were I dont belong. -Joe |

^^^ Yes you should be able to. You own the bike, it's a safety recall. It shouldn't matter if you are the 2nd or 22nd owner. I would think just about every firebolt owner has the headlight recall going for them. Wonder if its a "fix" or a replacement. (Message edited by mr2shim on July 06, 2008) |

Another dilema...there's no Buell dealership anywhere close to me, by any chance do you think a Harley dealer would handle the problem for me? Thanks so much for your advice. |

I seen no date when I checked my vin earlier today. There are one or more open safety recalls or product improvement campaigns on your vehicle. The following list contains the campaign number and a brief description: Product Notice: 0501: PRD PGM: FIREBOLT HEADLIGHTS We strongly urge you to take your motorcycle to your dealer to have the appropriate service performed as soon as possible. Should you choose to ride your motorcycle prior to this service, we urge you to be aware of this condition. Some product campaigns may have expired and you may have to pay for the service. Please see your local Harley-Davidson dealer for further details. |

I don't think that headlight one was there last week (July 27). I'm pretty sure I checked myself. When my bike was going through the safety, the dealer said they checked the warranty status. |

O_o I never did have the sidestand changed (and don't WANT it done), but if they've finally come up with a fix for the damned headlights I'm THERE. I'll have to run my VINs this afternoon when I get home. |
