I took an 1125r out for a 90k test ride at the weekend. Nice motor, good chassis but my God it's ugly! I bought my XB9r four years ago because of it's innovative engineering and it's good looks and I've never regretted it other than when all the guys I'd passed on the previous lap blew me into the weeds on the start finish straight. I thought the 1125 would be the answer but it's not it's just too damn ugly for me. Also that beautiful XB swing arm is replaced by an ugly cast item....I could go on but I'm too disappointed. |

I'm not getting one right now either, but for different reasons. First is the ride ability bugs, second is I want to find a way to keep my cityX and get the 1125r. If I were to do it now, the cityX would have to go and I just can't bring myself to list her for sale. |

When I test rode a Ducati ST3 a few months ago, I cam away less than impressed. But, do you know it never occurred to me to go on a Ducati forum and post, "Is it just me, or does this bike suck...?" Jack |

I call TROLL. First - this subject has been beat to death. Do a search. Second - You go to the 1125 board just to spout a negative OPINION. This really gets boring. Ron |

Well before you start name calling did you look at his profile? Been around since '04 and has an XB9R. Now other people have spoken out about not liking the looks and maybe it came off to strong but... Also he is in Ireland they probably just got the bikes there recently. |

Dang, and I'm Irish.... My bad.. Surveyor, the looks grow on you, some say. Didn't have to with me, though. I liked it from the first time I laid eyes on it. I've never regretted my decision to buy it, and I haven't missed my XB. Like any other decision concerning bikes - if it doesn't push your buttons, keep the one that does. Welcome to the forum! I'm a long time Buell owner (5) been posting here since 2004. I'm Not a Troll, I love Buell. I was first in line to get the new 1125 Buell at my dealer, until...... I seen it. I will not buy this bike until they finish designing it, and then then I will be first in line. I can handle ugly, I even own a Busa, but I cant handle just plain wrong. I'm a guy that makes a living in graphic design and marketing I would not buy this version even at $2,500 I knew Buell would make a water cooled bike someday and I have waited years. I guess I will wait just a little longer. (Message edited by brad1445 on June 10, 2008) |

Badlionsfan "I'm not getting one right now either but for different reasons. first is ride ability bugs" What bugs, I have none and most 1125R owners also have none. Brad1445, I have enjoyed most of your input here, but "I will not buy this bike until they finish designing it" My question is: are you a person who thinks ONLY Ducati's are beautiful bikes? I also like the looks of full faired bike, especially Ducati's, and why I did my M2 like that but I am also one who likes the engineering and "built from the rider up" idea. I ride for the RIDE mostly, its outstanding in all respects and I think our 1125's are just fine in the looks department as most people who stop me to lend an opinion. Being a little different is also one of my biggest traits. I still enjoy both of your inputs and the spirited discussion on all threads. |

I just test rode this thing. It def has bugs. It shakes way more than my Firebolt, has a very rough power roll on with powerband uncharacteristic of any other Buell. My right toe nearly burnt off. That said, it handles even smoother than my bolt. |

Surveyor, I'm a fan of Buell, but I just traded my '06 XB12S (race ECM and exhaust, American Sport Bike air intake) for a new 1098. I test-rode the 1125, but didn't really like it. I agree that it's ugly. |

1125R is a beauty queen compared to the XB-R. I have held off on one because there are too many interesting bikes to me right now. One has to stand out WELL beyond the others to make it a must have. The quirks/idiosyncrasies/faults are a little troubling. I do still see a lot of possibilities with the 1125. I may have to go test ride one and if i like it keep a look out for another low mile deep discounted one. |

Dalton = ROFL Bob = I like nakid bikes very very much/ I think the side radiators make that look impossible so it looks best in the race fairings we see. I would like the looks naked also if the radiator was in front of the engine, well and a aftermarket muffler, and an RR tail. |

I think it could pull of the S look with the pods. Yes it would be different, but just another unique 1125 look. Just look at the pics of that wrecked one that was sold here recently. |

What bugs, I have none and most 1125R owners also have none. from reading the boards here it seems that many are having an issue or two. I am well aware that many more have had no issues, and I'm that you've got a good one. I know my luck, and I wouldn't be so fortunate. As the rest of my post said, the part of the decision (maybe bigger than the first part) is that I just can't part with my bike. I like the concept of the 1125r, dig the way it looks and am encouraged by stories of people having good luck with them, because I have every intent to own one when the time is right for me. |

I have to say. I guess I have a good one. I have great power in all of the revs. I have stumbled a few times, but it happened right after I bought it, with in the 1st 620miles. It's has gobs of serious torque where you want it, it has taking me a while to get used to the handling and weight being a little more forward than I'm used to. I traded my 1200mile HD nightster with in 2 weeks after I saw this thing. I went to the dealer at least 10 times to look at it before I bought it. Every time I saddle up I have a smile on my face and if something can do that for you, thats what its all about. Not what mags, friends, or forums say. 2cents Rick |

You know, I find it interesting to hear different folks opinions on likes and dislikes on the design and looks. I for one really like the looks of the bike. it's unique and different and the aesthetics of the design work for me. I enjoy listening to and respect the opinions of those that dislike the looks and think it's ugly. What I don't enjoy is when someone thinks their opinion is the definitive statement on design. Repeatedly keep harping on what a mistake it is. People have different tastes, get over it and move on! |

I like it but,it's a quality disaster. Thought i'd just swoop in and snipe with that comment I actually DO like it.Just as i did with my 12r,i'll wait until it's sorted by you beta testers |

Not getting one yet, I'll wait till it's ready for prime time then maybe. Picked up a Daytona 675 for now. I went to Miami-Homestead earlier in the year for the Inside Pass event and scheduled a ride on a 1125r for just after lunch. By then they were all 'out of service' waiting to go back to the factory for 'technical evaluation.' Simply not ready for prime time then or now. |

Mine's doing just fine in 'prime time', thank you very much. But, congrats on the 675 - looked very hard at those myself, and test rode one. Great bike! Jack |

"I like it but,it's a quality disaster." You are a punctuation and inaccuracy disaster. How do you expect perfection from a near infinitely more complex motorcycle if you cannot even manage to properly punctuate a sentence? |

OUCH! Hey,hey, watch the personal attacks mister. You know, when the first XB debuted i wasn't imressed with IT either.A couple years later,i calculated they'd gotten it right and i bought one.My second. I'll be watching future iterations of this 1125r.For now i'm on the lookout for the 1125r version of the "headlight reflector". |

Is Ducxl an inaccuracy disaster, or an accuracy disaster? Just trying to be grammatically parallel. |

As Reg stated,i challenge anyone to prove my statement regarding quality as false. There are MANY threads here with 1125r issues.these are not anomalies. My comment was sort of in jest, hence my comment, Thought i'd just swoop in and snipe with that comment

There are some teething issues no doubt. That's expected with a new design. But "quality issues"? That implies things are cheap and or breaking at a high frequency, which just isn't happening. What you don't see here are threads from those that are not having any problems. My bike is just about perfect. I had a minor problem that was solved with the reflash. |
