does anyone know where I can get a comlete engine gasket kit for xb9. I had to tear her down due to a noisey bearing in the tranny. HD wants $130 for a kit. any one have know where I can get one without trading my arm & leg? |

That's not that bad considering what you get. I'm sure some spendthrift badwebber's will hook you up though. A few recent engine kits for japbikes I priced recently were way more than $130. (Message edited by jos51700 on May 08, 2008) |

$130 is cheap for all the stuff you get. There is no gasket for the case. MAKE SURE YOU USE A GOOD ALUMINUM RTV. I recommend Honda Bond, best RTV I have ever used in my 13 years of turning wrenches. |

Try Cometic's website. They make Buell gaskets, good quality too. |

I'll second that opinion on Honda Bond HT!!!! Awesome stuff! I work for a honda dealer as a mechanic and swear by it. Rich |

Hey Squash, How hard is it to do this job? Did you do it yourself and does it take a ton of experience to do? |

James Gaskets are a premium brand of gaskets. I don't know if they have a Buell Kit, and I doubt they are cheaper, but from the one I have seen, the cam Cover Oil Seals, they are certainly better than the stock Harley gaskets, and they have excellent customer service. Here is their web site: http://www.jamesgaskets.com/ |
