I run the Pirelli Scorpions. I believe they are stock on the current Buells. So far, so good. Decent wear with good grip. Price wasn't bad, w/ my HD dealers discount(20%), I got the set for about 275. |

I run Metzeler M3's. Been using the Metzelers for awhile now, since the M1. |

My understanding is that many (all?) of the Metzelers and Pirellis are the same tire with a different tread pattern, so you cannot go wrong with either of those. I run the M3's and would recommend that you make sure to select a tire with the harder, longer wearing compound in the middle. |

What happened to Part II? It vanished this morning after chasespeed's post, I posted just a few minutes before. I guess those in control can delete threads that don't appeal to them. |

That's why I reccomend the Bridgestone BT014, The pilot offering is SOFT, inside and out. Pirelli and Metz as well! I own and operate a cycle tyre shop, and I've done my research. The Pirellis, Michelins, and Metzs are soft compound high performance tyres, while they work VERY well on the track, they do not give proper life on the street(IMO 8,000 miles min). If you wana know what happened to part II of ths thread ask the lizard |

I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, the subject got clouded by someone going into genetics instead of tire tech, but then again I could be wrong about who. The tyre issue stands however IMO the BT014 is best for longevity While giving good sticksion on th street. My .02 |

Seems like there is no 'Best' but a bunch of good ones to choose from... Aren't we the lucky ones? Tubers running tubeless. |

Roadsmarts. They are the new dual compound tire. I have had them for about 1,000 miles and they are good so far. Just wanted to know if anyone else had gave them a try. They were just released in Jan-Feb of this year. |

just got a new set of pilot powers put on today! 2nd set on the buell. first set lasted 1 year of everyday driving and commuting. plus a 2800 mile road trip all interstate. for 260 in tires a year with that kind of mileage, ill accept it. because i know they are going to stick in the turns... if i wasnt such a compulsive "gotta have it now" buyer, id get the pilot roads. harder center with same outsides as pilot powers. |

Pilot Power's for a year?!?! How can mine be flat after 3 months then? I have 2.5 bar in them, is that not ok? |

Don't go by time on the bike, go by mileage on the tire. You'd be lucky to get 6,000 miles out of a modern performance radial on the rear. Some riders brag about toasting a rear within 2,500 miles. 2.5 bar is 36.26 psi, the recommended factory pressure for the rear (the front is 32 psi). I usually lower the rear to 32 for agressive riding in the twisties. |

hey anyone try SHINKO RAVEN 0009 tires. They are all over ebay cheap. Now I know the old saying you get what you pay for but some times the quality is there but priced to gain market share. So has anyone tired them. |
