Single now after 26+ years---very weird shit, fumbling my way back to a life again. Been out since Thanksgiving but was asked to keep it quiet until now. No kid around, got my own place with huge garage, have new job in sights with retirement coming fast from fire dept.Luckily its all a mutually amicable thing--hope it can stay that way. Had a long time friend/fellow fireman get struck with an aneurysm/stroke--he is 50--(I turned 55 on the 12th) and was active/healthy with no history. It looks like he will make a recovery but -shit--we were just racing together at Lemons last weekend and there was nothing to indicate this crap!!! Makes me realize I cannot pass any opportunities up anymore--live for today for tomorrow we die!! Gonna do shit I have been putting off and not let stuff pass me by. Not sure about this dating stuff as last date I was on was in 1980----but WTF!! Update on that dating thing--with my new resolutions in mind I had a screaming good date this sat. Big thanks to my good friends, Bob-n-Deb G. for all the much needed support. |

Yes it was weird to try dating after 20 years with one woman. And I still have my kids. Didn't get back into it really. Enjoy being single for a while as you are right, life is too short. You'll do fine Jim. Glenn |

It's funny how life can remind you what is really important in life. Life is short... Grab it by the cojones why you can... |

never an easy thing to do. only 2 out of 7 kids in my family are still married to the same person. both over 25 years now. sometimes things work out for the best and like captpete meant to say, eat drink and do mary or barb or alice or who ever you can. |

all i can tell you about dating today is a rubber is a requirement. also, no women thinks it's funny when she asks about condoms when you say "i don't use them, it's not like i'm gonna get aids twice." |

Gonna do shit I have been putting off and not let stuff pass me by. Jim, you don't seem like the kind of guy that sits around waiting for things to happen. Best of luck to you in your new life. Good to see you positive, and looking at this as an opportunity. |

I just can't personally imagine any other woman besides my wife. I salute your attitude and wish you well. I just don't know if I could do it, but if I was to spend time thinking about it, it's kind of like planning it, and I don't want to do that. But just as I am blessed, remember that many strange new things are just blessings in disguise. Good luck out there. (Message edited by pwnzor on January 16, 2008) |

Jim, good luck out there. I was single for 12 years. I still am but have a live in GF for the last two years. She rides her own bike and I could not be happier. There is nothing sexier than a girl that rides and rides well. She has been great in supporting me through various 12 step programs for the S2. See you in WI???? Frank |

Jim, Glad to hear you are doing well. Nothing helps healing like a great attitude, something you've always had. A friend of mine who went through divorce likened the ordeal, emotionally speaking, to having "one of [his] limbs sawed off" and "by far the worst thing [he'd] ever experienced in life." It sure speaks highly of your character that you don't voice hostility towards your former spouse. If you ever get bored and want to talk bikes or whatever, you have my number! Don't hesitate to call, anytime. How's the World's fastest Buell effort progressing? |

Jim my friend, it happens to the best of them. I read your thread on Sac last night and was going to drop you a note. It really is a good thing it's amicable, it takes a little of the edge off the sting of the entire ordeal. Here's another that was announced today.. (also posted on another thread to poke fun at you know who..) Brad

Bike is at fabricator getting manifold for new throttle body, plenum, exhaust redone, wastegate added, intercooler plumbed. Then I need to figure out how to rig a crank sensor for FI,then fire it and tune. Then bodywork and dissassemble/podwercoat etc. |

so what you're saying cityx slicker is chicks don't dig larry the cable guy's minnie me on a orange motorcycle that he thinks is a dirt bike covered in mud flying around in the woods? i figured they'd be all over that. maybe, juuuuust maybe if you rode around on streets instead of mud you'd meet a lady. and that's the Badlionsfan relationship tip of the day. |

I think my brain is turning to mush...
