Just finished the remapped ecm, airbox mod and servo emulator and breather mod. What a difference. It sounds and feels like a different bike. Front end comes up very easy now. Very cool. Thanks to Al and American Sport Bike. |

Many congrats. That's going to be fun. I've done a similar deal with my 06 with the Micron System. Except I still the original air box. All from American Sport Bike. They made it so easy and truly are enthusiasts. Now riding in the colder air I had it come up a little shifting hard into third gear. Could have been the road, it could be because it's orange. :-) I ride sometimes with a work mate of mine that has a 06 black uly. Having a black Uly it was just slightly slower to begin with yes, but now the difference in acceleration is much larger. |

Hey David_e, Sounds like you've found the right combo. Did American Sport Bike re-map your stock ECM, and how do you like your SpecOps muffler? Thanks, John H. . |

What if you want to make the airbox and ECM mods but keep the stock muffler, anyone heard if the mods still make much difference ? |

Yep! Although likely not as much. If the muffler is opened up the remapping will match its difference. On my '06 I opened up the air box and did not remap. No problems and it does make a small but noticeable difference. |

Do I need a re-map if I added the 07 airbox (to an 06) and a Special Ops exhaust? Thanks, ar |

I thought a few people said that they had an 06 and when they added the 07 airbox (or some just cut holes in the airbox), that they got worse MPG. After they did the 07 remap and TPS reset, their MPG came back up higher again. The extra air probably makes the O2 sensor think it's leaner, so it dumps more fuel. I think some said it was probably better to have more fuel. Others said they did the 07 remap to get their MPG back up higher again. (Message edited by buellinabq on January 15, 2008) |

These motors love to breathe. I have ported heads, 1250 conversion, micron system and asb open air and fuel map with trojan ram air system. I can still get 65 mpg two up with fully loaded bags. I get around 50-55 as a daily driver. The fuel map makes all the difference in the world. It will let your engine take advantage of the flow improvements far better than the stock map.

Not yet, it's the dry season here. I am working on a water trap for the opening in the top, and a drain system for the air box base. It sounds awesome like it is tho. Much nicer sound than the flipped air cleaner on the family car, back when we were teenagers. |
